Juan's Early Life

Juan Dixon is 44 years old. He was born on October 9, 1978 in the city of Baltimore in the state of Maryland. Juanita and Phil, his mother and father, were both heroin users who died of AIDS-related diseases when he was 17 years old. After their deaths, he was raised by relatives, including his grandparents Roberta and Warnick Graves, and his aunt, Sheila Dixon, who became the mayor of Baltimore.

The former basketball player learned in 2016 that his real father, Bruce Flanigan, was still alive, and that Phil Dixon was not his actual father. While Juanita Dixon was separated from Phil, Flanigan had an affair with her, and a blood test verified his fatherhood. Dixon and Flanigan reunited and became close.

Juan Dixon's Wife and Family Life

Juan Dixon and Robyn Bragg, his high school sweetheart, married in July 2005 after dating since 1996. They have two kids, Corey born in 2008, and Carter born in 2010. His wife Robyn works in public relations. She is also a cast member on Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Potomac.” After divorcing in March 2012, the pair continued to live together in Maryland.

The couple has reconciled later in December 2019 and got engaged for the second time around. However, Distractify verified in December 2020 that Juan confessed to cheating on Robyn while they were married. In 2009, the former NBA player was believed to have begun having an affair with Cris Sanchez. The length of Dixon’s relationship with Cris, on the other hand, is unknown.

Just recently, the real housewife and the basketball player married again for the second time around January 2023. His wife, Robyn, even shared a series of photos of them together, with their children, and with her family on February 6, 2023. She captioned the post, “🤍💗 Our way, our why. 💗🤍 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Thank you to everyone who helped make our day so special and beautiful.” In addition, she mentioned the usernames of those people who helped them on their second wedding day, such as the events organizers, stylists, etc.

Juan Dixon's Career

Juan Dixon began his basketball career as a member of the University of Maryland, College Park basketball team. As a freshman, Juan participated in 34 games and averaged 7.4 points per game then as a sophomore, he scored 18 points per game and was chosen to the All-ACC team in 1999-2000. In 2002, he was voted ACC Athlete of the Year and Player of the Year, as well as being chosen to the first team of the ACC three times. That same year, he received the Chip Hilton Award and the Senior CLASS Award, including being voted NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player.

Juan was a unanimous first-team All-American in 2002. The Washington Wizards selected him 17th overall in the NBA Draft in 2002, and he stayed with the organization until 2005. He played with the Portland Trail Blazers for five seasons, the Toronto Raptors from 2007 to 2008, then the Detroit Pistons in 2008. He was also a part of the Washington Wizards and Atlanta Hawks from 2008 to 2009. He subsequently went on to play in Greece in 2009, Spain between 2010 and 2011, and Turkey in 2011. In international competition, he represented the United States and won a bronze medal in the 2001 Summer Universiade. In 2008, he signed a one-year, $1 million deal with the Wizards.

In September 28, 2009, Juan was signed by the Atlanta Hawks and on October 20, 2009, he was waived. He also signed with Aris Thessaloniki, a Greek A1 League, on November 1, 2009 and moved to Unicaja Málaga in Spain the next season. After testing positive for drugs, FIBA banned him indefinitely in February 2010. He later joined with Bandrma Banvit in Turkey in March 2011 and played for them for one season before moving on to coaching. The basketball player can also be seen in Bravo’s hit reality series, “The Real Housewives of Potomac.”

Today, Juan Dixon no longer works as a current head coach for Coppin State University in Baltimore. That is because Juan was recently named in the complaint filed by Ibn Williams, a former Coppin basketball player, against his assistant coach Lucian Brownlee in November 2022.

The lawsuit claimed that he was sexually assaulted and blackmailed by Lucian by tricking him into sending nude photos of himself. As a result of his involvement in the said lawsuit, he has parted ways with Coppin State University and no longer serves as their head coach.

Real Housewives of Potomac Storyline for Juan Dixon

Juan Dixon joined “The Real Housewives of Potomac” in season 1 in 2016.

Over the years, the relationship between Juan Dixon and Robyn Dixon has been surrounded in mystery and innuendo. The pair was introduced to Real Housewives of Potomac fans in the first season of the program; they were already divorced at the time but remained friends. The couple was also still sharing a residence. Robyn and Juan were high school sweethearts who married and divorced after seven years of marriage. “Our relationship is a lot better than when we were married. We were very young,” Robyn told Bravo. “I consider 25 to be young to get married, at least nowadays. We were very young, and so there was a lot that we just maybe didn’t focus on or really stress the importance of.”

“And now that we’re a little bit older, we can look back on the mistakes that we made or things that we didn’t do. Our values are a lot different. I just think we’re in a better place as partners, I guess you would call us, and definitely have a lot more respect in what it is that we do and bring to the table as parents and everything,” she added.

Many reality programs have been accused of using editing to make cast members seem unattractive. In the Dixons’ case, Juan’s aversion to filming was used to paint him in a bad light. However, it’s possible that it’s more than that; their tumultuous relationship has been documented for five seasons, and fans have had front-row seats to their out-of-the-box romance.

Juan said in season 2 of RHOP that he would want to be in a relationship with someone else and would only remain with Robyn because of the kids. On the broadcast, he also admitted to cheating on Robyn. “I hated Season 2 and how people perceived him because I feel like when the cameras were around, he just wasn’t in the mood to film. And it came through and that was the perception that people had of him,” the real housewife said adding, “So I really love that he kind of watched himself back from Season 2 and he was like, ‘Oh yeah, OK, I see, I get it. Like, let me act like myself … rather than being annoyed with the cameras … It took him a while to grasp that and to get comfortable with that.”

For the second time in 2019, Juan Dixon proposed to the reality star. Fans were ecstatic to see the couple together and pondered on when they could marry. Robyn expressed an interest in having a modest vacation wedding. “[The pandemic] has postponed our plans. We wanted a destination wedding, and we wanted to begin the planning when Juan’s basketball season was over in March, and we all know what happened in March,” the RHOP star explained. “The pandemic hit, and now I’m still kind of trying to figure out what to do next. So we’re just enjoying our engagement.”

Clearly, the rumors of a covert wedding between the pair are untrue. Robyn and Juan are having a great time together and want to marry when they are ready. Producers do not however buy the Dixons’ love story and are expecting a wedding, as per reports. Robyn, on the other hand, denounced the claims that she wasn’t called back for the show’s sixth season, alleging they were propagated by unreliable sources.
