Chico DeBarge Arrested And Charged With Drug Possession

R&B singer Chico DeBarge’s history of addiction appears to be continuing, as the singer was recently arrested for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

According to TMZ, authorities received a report on Nov. 6 about a man making a ruckus inside a motorhome, and when they arrived, they spoke with Chico and discovered his RV had an expired registration of more than six months.

Investigators also seized his car and discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside. After that, the DeBarge singer was detained and charged with possession of a controlled narcotic as well as drug paraphernalia. He was eventually freed on a promise to appear citation after being taken into jail.

He has been detained for drugs for the second time this year. He was apprehended in Burbank on Jan. 13 after pulling over in a car with no headlines or license plate.

He then pretended to be his elder brother James DeBarge, and was charged with false impersonation, DUI, and drug possession when officers discovered methamphetamines and heroin in his possession during a search.

DeBarge, the second youngest son of a musical family that came to fame in the 1980s, has been candid about his drug use in the past. During a five-year jail sentence for drug trafficking in the mid-1990s, he became clean.

Anyone over the age of 30 knows the horrors this family has gone through. The psychological childhood trauma, rapes, physical abuse, etc.. this isn’t something to laugh at
