She is being compensated to gain weight in preparation for one of her acting roles before.

Actress Rebel Wilson, who played “Fat Amy” on “Pitch Perfect,” dropped more than 60 pounds during her “Year of Health,” back in 2020. She has also went viral twice in the past after presenting individual Bafta prizes.

But now she’s back, generating headlines as she flaunts a much thinner figure, and not greedy enough to disclose what she went through, the diet she followed, and the strategies that worked for her in her weight loss journey.

The Australian actress talked to BBC News in December of last year, revealing that her weight loss journey stemmed from her desire to improve her health. “I feel like I’m really going to physically transform and change my life,” she began.

“And they were like, ‘Why? Why would you want to do that?’ Because I was earning millions of dollars being the funny fat girl and being that person.”

Despite the fact that she was always happy in her own skin, she was worried about her health and desired to shed some pounds, saying, “I knew deep down inside that some of the emotional behaviors I was doing wasn’t healthy.”

“I did not need a tub of ice cream every night. That was me numbing my emotions using food, which wasn’t the healthiest thing.”

In an Instagram video, she further added a reason as to why she was driven to better her health when she chose 2020 as her “Year of Health.”

“I was thinking about fertility and having good quality eggs in the bank,” she shared. “So I was like, ‘Okay, I’m going to do this. I’m going to get healthy.’”

What did Rebel Wilson do to lose weight, and what workout did she follow specifically?

With all of these desires to lose weight, what exactly did she do and give up to get such a healthy physique? Well, she first began by going for a walk and making some healthy meal choices.

“I put on the athleisure and went out for a walk, deliberately hydrating on the couch right now and trying to avoid the sugar and junk food which is going to be hard after the holidays I’ve just had but I’m going to do it!” she declared on her social media back in January 2020.

She’s also been exercising with her trainer Jono Castano up to seven days a week, documenting some of her most rigorous training moves for everybody to witness and giving regular updates.

Rebel additionally participated in an Austrian health retreat, where she gained a fresh perspective on her health and wellbeing objectives.

“An Austrian doctor said ‘Rebel, the best way for you to lose unwanted body fat is by just simply walking, it doesn’t have to be high intensity or uphill…just simply walk an hour a day.’”

“It just made me think: OK I should take it a bit easier on myself, and just do it gently and do it lightly,” she remarked, astonished.

“So in 2020 I lost weight but very, very gradually. Sometimes I kicked up things a notch with some workouts and went hard. But, the majority of the work for the year was just doing things like walking for an hour.”

Following a 40-pound weight loss, she stated in November of the same year to PEOPLE, that shifting to a high-protein diet had a significant influence on her health.

“Before I was probably eating 3,000 calories most days, and because they were normally carbs, I would still be hungry,” she explained, adding, “So, I’ve really changed to eating a high-protein diet, which is challenging because I didn’t used to eat a lot of meat. I eat fish, salmon, and chicken breast.”

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, she had a considerably more time to work on herself, which helped her lose weight even more.

“I really took it as time to get really well-rested and de-stress,” she continued. “Because most of my stress is work-related.”

Apart from revealing it in several interviews, the actress underlined her regimen, which is basically simply walking, even in her most recent “Apple Fitness+ Time to Walk” debut episode of season three.

“My goal was to get healthier and lose the body-weight I didn’t want,” she commented in the middle of her hike during the episode. “I knew deep down that I wasn’t the healthiest version of myself because of work commitments.”

Rebel reached her weight target of 11.8 stone while staying at the VivaMayr health center. She has apparently shed 5.5 stone since starting her weight-loss mission and her primary focus now is on maintaining her healthy body weight and good lifestyle.
