Sydney Sweeney recently shared a collection of images documenting how they honored her mother’s birthday. It appeared to be a good time, but some of the pictures she published from the event have outraged some of her followers.
A Western-themed celebration with a rodeo inspired cake is held for her mother Lisa’s surprise 60th birthday. There was even what appeared to be a cow carnival ride, and the majority of the people were dressed in cowboy-style clothing and footwear.
The “Euphoria” star captioned the series of photos: “no better way to celebrate my momma than a surprise hoedown🤠.” However, eagle-eye followers quickly noticed this one partygoer wearing a Blue Lives Matter T-shirt.
Furthermore, the fact that they were wearing “Make Sixty Great Again” hats inspired by MAGA, a Donald Trump slogan (Make America Great Again) in images from the party that her brother, Trent, also shared led some internet users to speculate that the event has political undertones in it.
Following that, Sweeney addressed rumors and clarified the situation by posting a statement on her Instagram story about the party’s theme and claiming that such accusations were not the intention.
“You guys this is wild,” she wrote. “An innocent celebration for my moms milestone 60th birthday has turned into an absurd political statement, which was not the intention. Please stop making assumptions.”
The actress ended her remarks by wishing everyone love and a happy birthday greeting again for her mother. She likewise posted her statement on Twitter.
