Tina Cervasio's Early Life

On December 10, 1974, Tina Cervasio was born in Nutley, New Jersey. She is the daughter of Blue Green Corporation vice president Joseph Cervasio, who oversees the internal leadership institute for the business, and Maria Cervasio, the Nutley Board of Education’s director of the extended-day program. At Nutley High School in New Jersey, Tina Cervasio graduated from high school in 1992. She was given a 2011 Hall of Fame Class Award.

In 1996, Cervasio graduated  Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Maryland. The “Distinguished Terrapin Award” for journalism achievement was awarded to her.

Tina Cervasio’s career in journalism began when she worked at the on-campus radio station WMUC at the University of Maryland. On the campus television channel, she later served as the host of the athletics show Terrapin Time Out. 

She updated WFAN in New York, covered NFL Network sidelines for Sports USA Radio, and filled in as an American sports anchor for Imus in the Morning on MSNBC and WFAN. Eli Gold and Mike Hold provided commentary, which was televised live on The Vision Channel, which is only available via Dish Network.

Cervasio covered the NBA on TNT and the NFL on FOX news as a sideline reporter. As a team broadcaster for the Boston Red Sox at NESN after they won the World Series in 2007, she also received a customized World Series ring. Later, she worked for MSG Network in New York as a studio host and an insider for the New York Red Bulls. (3)

 In December 2008, Cervasio became an insider to the New York Knicks Broadcasts as the team sideline reporter. She also stepped in to host the pre-and post-game shows. Cervasio is a member of Women in Sports and Events (WISE). She made history as the first female host of the 2016 induction to the New York City Basketball Hall of Fame.

Philanthropist Tina Cervasio developed a passion for charitable activities throughout college. She is one of the participants n the Garden of Dreams Foundation’s City Marathon in 2008, 2009, and 2013 to help raise funds for the Clara Maass Medical Center Foundation. 

Cervasio frequently visits New York City Public Schools to encourage students to take part in the community and hosts several fundraising events each year for organizations like Sarcoma Foundation of America, United Way of New York,  Voices Against Brain Cancer, and Coaches vs. Cancer, among others.
