“Last night I burnt 908 calories in 6 miles, so walking for an hour,” Pimblett said in the video.

Joel McCarthy, known as The Macro Chef, joins Pimblett in the gym following his training. He has been assisting Pimblett with weight management even before joining the UFC.

Besides being a trained chef, McCarthy is a former fighter himself. Hence, he understands the challenges of going through a demanding and tiring training camp as a fighter.

Paddy Pimblett’s Trainer Revealed How the MMA Fighter Loses Weight

McCarthy explains that Pimblett consumes around 1400 to 1700 calories daily when preparing for a fight.

His meals include a choice of protein granola pot or overnight oats for breakfast (300 to 350 calories), a chicken salad wrap or BBQ burrito for lunch (450 to 520 calories), and dinner options like chili meatballs with fusilli pasta or Wagyu burger with sweet potato fries and greens (470 to 500 calories). For dessert, he enjoys either a chocolate protein school cake or protein cookies.

“Paddy is very particular in what vegetables he likes,” McCarthy shared. “He doesn’t like peppers, but he likes cabbage. He doesn’t like mushrooms, but he likes peas. Onions and beansprouts are an absolute no-go.”

He added, “His favorite thing is a chocolate protein school cake. It’s not that high in calories. We’ve got the knowledge of turning unhealthy food into healthy food.”
