Jonah Hill started losing weight to get healthier and feel better about himself. He wanted to make some good changes in his life, so he started living healthier.

The actor has gone through a remarkable transformation, shedding a significant amount of weight in recent years. He looks completely different from his “Superbad” days, having lost 40 pounds (equivalent to 2.9 stone) thanks to the guidance of a nutritionist and a personal trainer.

One crucial part of Jonah’s weight loss journey was practicing mindful eating. He started paying more attention to how much he ate and making healthier food choices. By eating a well-balanced diet full of nutrients, he nourished his body and helped himself lose weight.

His transformation also included adding regular exercise to his daily routine. He did various activities, like cardio workouts and strength training, which helped him build strong muscles and boost his metabolism.

In addition to his physical changes, Jonah stressed the importance of maintaining his mental and emotional health. He practiced mindfulness, meditation, and self-care, which helped him handle stress and maintain a positive attitude throughout his weight loss journey.

When discussing his transformation, he shared with ABC News that it was mainly because of changes in his diet.

Jonah revealed that his co-star offered him valuable advice that assisted him in shedding the weight he had gained for his role in “War Dogs.”

“I called Channing Tatum and said, ‘Hey, if I ate less and go to a trainer, will I get in better shape?'” Jonah told The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. “And he said, ‘Yes, you dumb motherf***er, of course you will. It’s the simplest thing in the entire world’.”

Jonah Hill Admits His Weight Affected His Self-Esteem

Over the years, Jonah has been quite candid about his weight loss journey, acknowledging that hurtful criticisms about his size had affected his self-esteem.

During a conversation with Ellen DeGeneres in 2018, he shared that he became famous in his late teens and then spent most of his young adult life hearing people call him “fat, unattractive, and gross.”

Jonah added: “I really believe everyone has a snapshot of themselves from a time when they were young that they’re ashamed of. For me, it’s that 14-year-old overweight and unattractive kid who felt ugly to the world, who listened to hip-hop, and who wanted so badly to be accepted by this community of skaters.”

In 2021, pictures of Jonah without a shirt made their way online, prompting him to address the situation.

In an Instagram post, he shared that he didn’t feel comfortable taking his shirt off, even in front of family and friends, until he was in his mid-30s.

“So the idea that the media tries to play me by stalking me while surfing and printing photos like this, and it can’t phase me anymore is dope. I’m 37 and finally love and accept myself,” Jonah further shared.
