Bob Lectress Whitfield III (born October 18, 1971) is a retired National Football League offensive tackle. Bob Whitfield was born in Carson, California, on October 18, 1971, and is most known for his work on CBS’s The NFL (1956), NFL Monday Night Football (1970), and ESPN’s Sunday Night Football (1987). Previously, he was married to Shereé Whitfield.

When the 1992 NFL Draft rolled around, Whitfield chose to forego his senior year because he believed he would be selected fifth overall by Green Bay. However, the Packers chose defense (cornerback Terrell Buckley), and the Falcons selected Whitfield at No. 8 three picks later.

In an amazing 12-year run, Bob Whitfield came off the bench in his first 11 games with the Falcons before starting 167 games, becoming one of the better offensive linemen of his era. Yet today, the never-bashful Stanford economics graduate seems to be getting more attention than ever as the ex-husband of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Sheree Whitfield.

Bob Whitfield's Net Worth

In 2021, Bob Whitfield has a $12 million net worth as a retired American football player. Bob Whitfield made his money playing tackle for the Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New York Giants in the NFL.

He collaborated with a wide range of musicians, including Nelly, OutKast, Snoop Dogg, Whitney Houston, 50 Cent, and many others.

In her divorce from Bob Whitfield, Shereé Whitfield campaigned for a bigger settlement. Shereé did receive a seven-figure divorce settlement, but it wasn’t the seven-figure payout she had hoped for. Shereé was granted nearly $1 million in cash, marital property, and Bob’s NFL retirement savings, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Shereé and her children were evicted from the marital residence she and Bob once shared since the settlement did not include any spousal maintenance.

Her settlement comprised a $775,000 lump sum payment, $113,422 in annual retirement money from Bob, and $2,142.87 in monthly child support for their two children. Shereé, on the other hand, opted to appeal, claiming that her lack of schooling hindered her capacity to earn a respectable livelihood and provide the lifestyle expected for the children of a former professional athlete.

Shereé’s plea fell short, according to Reality Tea, when Bob filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy in 2011 claiming he was broke.

Bob and Shereé Whitfield’s divorce proceedings had already commenced before RHOA began in 2008. Shereé was looking for a seven-figure divorce settlement so she could continue living the opulent lifestyle she had grown accustomed to being married to the former NFL star. After seven years of marriage, the couple split in 2007. Shereé hosted her own divorce party a year after the divorce was finalized, and the show premiered a year later. Shereé didn’t reveal much about her marriage to Bob in the early years of the show, except that he was a serial cheater and an absentee parent. In season 4, she dragged him to court for not paying child support for their two children.

Sheree Whitfield, Bob Whitfield’s ex-wife, was a cast member of the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Bob was a member of the Atlanta Falcons from 1992 to 2003, but they only met a few years after he left the team. According to Sheree, Bob allegedly mistreated her during their marriage. Kaleigh and Kairo, their two children, were born in 1996 and 1999, respectively. Bob pays Sheree child support for both of their children, but no alimony has been granted by the courts. Due to her lack of formal education and a specialized trade or career, she appealed the ruling of no alimony, but she lost the case and the home they shared.

They attempted to rebuild their co-parenting relationship in an episode of Iyanla: Fix My Life, but were unsuccessful. Bob accused Shereé of attempting to smear his reputation by alleging that he was a deadbeat father, and Shereé said that Bob was unaccountable for his faults.

The Atlanta Falcons selected Whitfield in the first round (eighth overall) in the 1992 NFL Draft. From 1992 until 2003, he was a member of the Atlanta Falcons. After that, he played with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2004. During the 2006 season, Whitfield started at left tackle for the New York Giants, filling in for injured starter Luke Petitgout. Two instances of his losing his cool and drawing costly personal fouls during his stint as a starter, once on headbutts in important times against the Dallas Cowboys and again in a Week 16 defeat to the New Orleans Saints, highlighted his time as a starter.

As a result of his antics, many Giants fans and local columnists dubbed him “Head-butt Bob.” Due to these actions and general inconsistency, Whitfield was benched for the final game of the season against the Washington Redskins and the subsequent playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He announced his retirement on Sirius NFL radio on February 12, 2007. Whitfield is the ceo and Founder of Patchwerks, Inc., which was established in 1993 and functioned PatchWerk Recording Studios in Atlanta, GA. The studio, which offers recording, production, mixing, and mastering services, has recorded and/or mixed more than 500 gold and platinum albums, which include segments of OutKast’s ATLiens and Goodie Mob’s Still Standing.

The studio has worked with artists like as T.I., Nelly, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Missy Elliott, Beyoncé, 112, Busta Rhymes, TLC, Whitney Houston, Ras Kass, Toni Braxton, Sting, Cher, Madonna, Annie Lennox, and others. The studio was split from its parent corporation in 2009 in order to concentrate on film and television investments.

Whitfield is also a guest analyst for Sky Sports’ NFL coverage in the United Kingdom and contributes to local Atlanta television and radio. On November 11, 2011, Whitfield was inducted into the Stanford University Hall of Fame. Whitfield stated that he was considering returning to his alma mater to get his degree.

In 2012, Whitfield returned to Stanford and obtained his bachelor’s degree in economics during a Father’s Day commencement ceremony that included his children.

Today, Bob Whitfield works at, owns, and manages his PatchWerk studio and was one of the stars of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”.

Real Housewives of Atlanta Storyline for Bob Whitfield

Bob Whitfield joined “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” in season 1 in 2008.

The couple separated in 2007, and on Season 9 of RHOA, they spoke up about their rough past. The March 19 episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta was jam-packed with the show’s customary sleazy pranks. The episode, on the other hand, was the final nail in the coffin for castmate Sheree Whitfield’s marriage to her ex-husband. Bob Whitfield has spent much of Season 9 trying to mend his connection with his ex-wife following a tumultuous and heartbreaking divorce years ago. The couple had an emotional sit-down during the cast’s trip to Maui. Bob, according to Sheree, never completely acknowledged the troubles he caused her after the divorce.

On the episode, a lot of the drama between the exes was based on accusations. Bob was refusing to pay child support for Kairo and Kaleigh, the couple’s two children. Sheree was accused of marrying Bob for his money on several occasions. From hurling beverages to court hearings, the couple displayed their inner struggle on television. Sheree claims that by the time they taped the most current season, they had become friends. She had already departed and returned to the famous program at this point. The couple had already learned to be kind for the sake of their children.

Shereé and Bob were considering reuniting when she returned to the show as a full-time housewife in season 9. It was short-lived, however, when Bob began making jokes about the domestic abuse she claims she suffered during their marriage.

Bob eventually apologized to Shereé for making light of the abuse, but the harm had already been done, and Shereé had given up hope of rekindling their old spark.

Shereé and Bob, on the other hand, are in a much better situation. Shereé stated she and Bob are excellent friends and co-parents to their now-adult children during a 2020 visit on Watch What Happens Live.
