He also showed up in the 1962 films Merrill’s Marauders, co-written and directed by Samuel Fuller and starring Jeff Chandler, and Red Nightmare, co-written and directed by Jack Kelly. Even his role in Onionhead was cut from the finished film, producer Julius Schermer cast him as Deputy Johnny McKay in Lawman, a supporting role to John Russell’s Marshal Dan Troop that lasted from 1958 to 1962. Brown was the series’ last surviving member.
