Daisy Kelliher's Early Life

Kelliher was born in 1988. As a result, the stewardess will have turned 34 years old by the year 2022. However, the yachtie’s precise date of birth and the month in which she was born are not disclosed to the public. The majority of her formative years were spent on family holidays at sea, during which she and her father sailed together. These trips had a significant impact on her development. Her grandfather, Eddie Kelliher, competed for Ireland in the 1964 Olympic sailing competition, and both of her parents, in addition to several of her aunts and uncles, were yachties. It is abundantly evident that being a yachtie is in her family’s DNA, since both of her parents were avid sailors in their own right. In addition to that, when she was 18 years old, her father strongly urged her to begin a career in yachting.

She was forced to move back in with her parents after the COVID-19 outbreak caused her to lose her work, and she claims that she is unsure who struggled more between her or her parents.

Daisy continued by saying that her father had employed her to deliver packages for his firm, and that after a few weeks of doing so, he began to refer to her as “Postman Daisy.” When she did some temporary employment and filmed for Below Deck Sailing Yacht, there was a little intermission in the “lockdown with parents” drama. During this time, she was able to see her parents. After that, she had a broken arm and was compelled to visit her parents’ home once more.

She did not divulge the names of her parents, but it was clear that she hailed from a family with a long history in the yachting industry. The Dun Laoghaire Yacht Club was home to both of her parents’ memberships. In addition to her parents and her grandfather, Daisy has a sister who goes by the name of Bonnie. According to the information that can be found on Bonnie’s social media profiles, she has prior experience working as a chef aboard yachts. Daisy Kelliher does not have a boyfriend at this time. Daisy Kelliher has shared a few pictures on her Instagram account that she has taken with a man named Lucas. These pictures are in addition to her romantic life. It would appear that he had a close friendship with Daisy as he is seen quite regularly and it is possible that they may have even been romantically involved. It was said that Daisy and Lucas were seeing each other at that time, and the news spread quickly. Daisy had stated something about August 2021 in a photo post that she shared with Lucas. However, she refuted all of the speculations by uploading a photo with a statement that said “He’s here. Psst… he’s not my boyfriend, haha”

In addition, the most recent sneak peek for Below Deck sheds light on the romantic connection that Daisy has with Gary King, the first mate of the yacht. The teaser contains a scene in which Daisy and Gary are seen kissing each other, and this moment gives the impression that Daisy and Gary may be interested in more than just a casual encounter with one another. After then, it was seen that Gary was simultaneously making out with one of the new cast members for this season, and her name is Ashley Marti. And Daisy could be heard yelling, “All of you are forgetting the f***ing lack of fundamental respect. ” You don’t f—k somebody then f-k somebody else.” It would indicate that Daisy, Gary, and Ashley are not the only characters involved in the love triangle; rather, it seems that this show will have a “love pentagon”

Daisy Kelliher and Gary King have continued to maintain a strictly professional relationship despite their steamy hot tub makeout session early on in the current season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht. In the most recent episodes of the show, they have even resumed their typical pattern of arguing with one another. Now that more information is available, Daisy has clarified the situation regarding her romantic involvement with Gary. She clarified their relationship status on Instagram on May 25 by writing, “So I know the rumor mill went into full meltdown during the weekend but we are still not a couple.” We are just two excellent friends that quarrel a lot but always wind up making up in the end.

Daisy Kelliher, who is the chief stewardess of Below Deck Sailing Yacht’s S/Y Parsifal III, does not hold back while discussing her first job aboard a yacht, how she came to develop her management style, and how she came to be on one of the most popular television shows.

Daisy Kelliher’s journey to becoming a crew member aboard a luxury boat and traveling the world did not begin as a fulfillment of a longtime ambition, as is the case for some people. “I was urged by my father to give sailing a shot, but I had little interest in doing so. “I had the impression that was something like the Navy,” she recalls. It was a time before the likes of Google and Facebook — social media didn’t exist, and the lovely world of crewing was only known to those who were already in the game.

Instead, she uprooted her life and moved to London, where she spent the next two years working in hotel management. After living and working in London for two years, she came to the conclusion that she did not belong on land. She heeded the guidance of her father and made the decision to go yachting for the first time. “When I was 25, I packed up my belongings and moved to Antibes, and exactly one month later, I landed my first job,” she adds.

The position was for a lone stewardess on a sailing vessel measuring 38 meters in length. It was “a natural development,” she adds, for her to join the interior design team given that she had a bachelor’s degree in hotel administration and prior experience working in the hospitality business. “Since it was only a temporary position, it was quite quiet; yet, it was an excellent way to get started in the industry.”

She made her way up to the position of chief stewardess in just two years and then spent the following six years working aboard two sailing ships that were each 45 meters long. Kelliher comments, “I’m more of a sailing girl.” [Citation needed] “Motor boats are far more convenient for making a stew. The requirements are slightly more stringent, but everything is simpler in terms of storage space, not being on your side, and having a larger crew. She believes that sailboats offer a more enjoyable experience. “The guests want to be there so that they can be a part of the natural environment. It’s not only about the cuisine, the wine, and the service.”

The epidemic that struck in the year 2020 put an abrupt end to her career, which had been going strong for eight years. “I believe that I was one of the first [people] to lose their employment. People were keeping their fingers crossed to see what would occur, but the person I worked for made his decision very quickly, which was unhappily the case.

“At that point in time, the sector was fraught with unpredictability, and its participants were largely unknown. A handful of my close friends suggested that I try out for Below Deck. At that time in my career, I had already been working in the field for eight years, so I figured, “What do I have to lose?”

Today, Daisy Kelliher went back to being a stew after recovering from a broken arm incident while on board.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Storyline for Daisy Kelliher

According to Kelliher, the casting team for Below Deck is comparable to crew agents. “The method is very comparable. You submit in your resume, and if they think you’d be a good fit for the position, you’re advanced to the next round.” As it turned out, she was offered the position, and she started working alongside Captain Glenn Shepherd on the sailing vessel Parsifal III during the second season of the spin-off series.

Kelliher claims that the show “is just pandemonium” now that it is in its third season. “Yachting is taking place everywhere. It’s like riding a roller coaster with your emotions; you can’t have the highs without the lows. But I believe that the team ended up being incredibly strong, and it is fun to bring everyone along for the adventure.”

Kelliher reported that she experienced a greater sense of ease upon her return onboard Parsifal III for a second year in the role of head stewardess. “It was obviously a difficult season for me, but I felt confidence in my ability to manage the team. It gave me great satisfaction to realize that I had attained the position of chief stew that had always been one of my goals. I am compassionate and understanding, but it’s difficult for me to comprehend what’s going on in the world when I don’t have a television to watch it on.

She is the first to confess that her approach to management is unique in comparison to that of other chief stewardesses she has met throughout her 10 years at sea. “I took the characteristics that I did not like about my chief stews, which were that they were not very approachable and strict, and I said to myself, ‘We’re making beds and heads, there’s no need to undercut me or talk down to me.'” I believe that moment very much summed up my approach to management.

“Although I am occasionally required to direct others’ actions and act in a supervisory capacity, I have the distinct impression that I am becoming more of a team player and am easier to approach.” She has high expectations that other aspiring sailors will find her approach to team leadership to be refreshingly light-hearted. “It is not always simple to keep an eye on yourself. But thank goodness I am able to laugh at myself.
