After closing Times Square for one hour in September 2014, Ryan proposed to lawyer Emilia Bechrakis. The pair married in Greece on July 7, 2016, and “Million Dollar Listing New York: Ryan’s Wedding,” a four-part series, aired in the fall. Following Serhant’s conversion to the Greek Orthodox Church, the two married in a Greek church in Corfu, Greece. The couple has one daughter, Zena, who was born on February 26, 2019, and they revealed their IVF journey with fans on season seven of “Million Dollar Listing New York.”

Despite her appearance on Million Dollar Listing New York and the fact that their lovely wedding was taped for a Bravo special, Bechrakis isn’t a big admirer of the spotlight. However, after a few years of marriage, the New York-based reality stars are well-versed in how to balance their hectic schedules without jeopardizing their romance.

Emilia and Ryan met in New York at a menorah lighting. Emilia was so taken by Ryan’s charisma, confidence, and excellent looks that she couldn’t believe he was unmarried. “He’s hot, single, oh he must be homosexual or married, taken, I don’t know what it was,” Emilia remarked.

Ryan was likewise impressed, and he gradually pulled Emilia into a relationship despite her seeming disinterest. Ryan planned a proposal fit for a queen, convinced that Emilia was the love of his life. Serhant cordoned off Times Square for an hour to propose to Emilia with the help of the Mayor and 50 police officers. Kevin Lee, a celebrity wedding planner, was recruited by the couple to plan the ceremony. The couple spent $1 million on the wedding, which included roses from the Netherlands, fireworks, and an after-party.

To commemorate Emilia, who is Greek-American, the pair selected Greece. After Ryan converted to Greek Orthodox Christianity, the pair married in a Byzantine Church that had previously been used for royal weddings.

Ryan and Emilia traveled to Africa in April 2018 to support the notching and microchipping of a rhino. Bechrakis said on Instagram that the efforts of park rangers and caretakers who have committed their lives to rhino conservation had humbled her.

Emilia and Ryan kept their pregnancy challenges private until Zena’s delivery on February 26th, 2019. According to Ryan’s early March 2019 Instagram post, the couple tried for three years to have a fruitful pregnancy. “It felt almost too good to be true that we were pregnant – as beautiful as it was,” Ryan wrote.

Emilia shared a gorgeous black and white photo of her baby bump on March 5, 2019. “I felt compelled to keep my pregnancy private on social media since we experienced so many ups and downs,” she explained. “I found the fear overpowering,” Emilia said, adding that while she was relieved to have had a healthy baby, she missed “having my baby safe in my belly.”

After graduating from college, Ryan decided to go to New York City. His ambition was to pursue an acting career, and he supported himself in the city by getting modeling gigs. In 2007, he also had a small part in “As the World Turns.” The show, however, did not continue, and he returned to modeling before opting to pursue a career in real estate.

Ryan Serhant began his real estate profession shortly after the subprime mortgage market collapsed in 2008, earning only $9,000 in his first year. Fortunately for Ryan, things improved after another year of hard work, and he was able to sell a $8.5 million home. He was later promoted to managing director and executive vice president of Nest Seekers International, where he had been employed since 2008. Ryan founded the Serhant Team, a brokerage firm with over 60 workers in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, New Jersey, and the Hamptons, in 2012.

“The Serhant Team has done over $4 billion in sales, has sold more than 80 new development projects across New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, and has broken price-per-square-foot records across the city,” according to Serhant’s official website. Ryan founded the real estate firm SERHANT in the fall of 2020, and some of the firm’s big sales include a $33 million Miami penthouse and a $69 million home on Madison Avenue in NYC.

Serhant’s acting credits include the films “Withdrawal” (2010) and “While We’re Young” (2015), as well as the television series “The Mysteries of Laura” (2015) and “Inside Amy Schumer” (2015). (2016). In 2010, Ryan auditioned for Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listing New York,” which premiered in March 2012. The show follows Ryan and fellow real estate brokers Michael Lorber and Fredrik Eklund as they try to negotiate exclusive deals around New York. Serhant created the spin-off “Sell It Like Serhant” in 2018, which he also produces, and he hosted, produced, and directed the 2013 web series “Realty Byte with Ryan Serhant.” Ryan has appeared on “Today,” “Watch What Happens: Live,” “Ca$h Cab,” “On the Money,” and “Larry King Now,” among other shows.

Serhant has appeared on CNN, CNBC, FOX, NBC, ABC, and CBS, among other media outlets. Serhant has also been on Inside Amy Schumer since his debut on Million Dollar Listing. He played a supporting role in Noah Baumbach’s film While We’re Young in 2014. In the spring of 2021, the 9th season of Million Dollar Listing New York began, coupled with a new spin-off show starring Serhant called “Ryan’s Renovation.” Serhant and his family were followed as they restored their Brooklyn house in this short series.

Serhant released his first book, Sell It Like Serhant: How to Sell More, Earn More, and Become the Ultimate Sales Machine, on September 18, 2018, the week of his 10-year real estate anniversary, and it quickly became a best-seller on the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Los Angeles Times book lists.

Ryan Serhant released Sell It Like Serhant: The Course, a real estate sales course, on August 15, 2019.

Today, Ryan Serhant works/owns/manages SERHANT, his very own real estate brokerage firm and is one of the stars of Million Dollar Listing New York

Million Dollar Listing New York Storyline for Ryan Serhant

Ryan Serhant joined “Million Dollar Listing New York” in season 1 in 2012 which premiered on January 27, 2012. He was one of the first and original brokers on the show and he appeared on the first season of the show together with Michael Lorber and Fredrik Eklund.

Although Ryan Serhant is a fan-favorite on the show, he has said it multiple times in the past that he hated filming for Million Dollar Listing New York. For broker Ryan Serhant, filming Million Dollar Listing New York wasn’t all rosy. Indeed, he acknowledged to despise the filming schedule, fearful that the broadcast would disclose how he loses deals. Indeed, the series depicts the brokers’ achievements as well as their massive losses, as Serhant has openly demonstrated throughout the last nine seasons. Serhant, an original cast member, spoke about how the series has changed while filming, as well as how real it is, which is why so many deals are depicted to be failing.

Serhant initially struggled with the idea of displaying failure on television. Serhant, on the other hand, has grown more comfortable with the show’s losses over time. He also mentioned how much more grueling the filming schedule for this show is. Most reality shows are shot over a short period of time, while Million Dollar Listing is shot all year.

The present feud between Eklund and Serhant is centered on Eklund’s bicoastal business life. Before the pandemic, Eklund relocated to Los Angeles, which may have offered an opening for the New York-based brokers.

When it comes to closing a business, Fredrik Eklund and Ryan Serhant have always been competitive with one another, which has surely led to a friendly rivalry, but Steve Gold, their castmate, has managed to preserve a friendship with both of them.
