Esposito was born in Western Springs, Illinois, USA, on October 17, 1981. Her Italian American parents, Brenda and Nick, raised her in Western Springs, Illinois. She has an older sister and a younger sister on either side of her. Esposito was a semifinalist for the National Merit Scholarship Program in high school. She also swam breaststroke on the swim team and was part of a community work group called “The Marians Society.” In 2000, she got her diploma from the Benet Academy.

Esposito went to Boston College to study religion and English. She wanted to become a social worker in Chicago.
