Ronny Chieng and Trevor Noah performed at an Australian comedy festival in Melbourne in 2013. He was requested to audition in 2015 for the correspondent role on “The Daily Show,” which Noah hosted from 2015 to 2022. In July 2016, Variety named him one of 10 Comics to Watch. Three months later, he gave an expletive-laden critique on “The Daily Show” of a Jesse Watters excerpt on Fox News that was deemed racist by many.
