Rory J. Scovel is an American comedian, actor, and writer. In 2011, Rory released his debut stand-up comedy album, “Dilation.” Since then, he has released “The Charleston Special” (2015), “Rory Scovel Tries Stand-Up for the First Time” (2017), and “Live Without Fear” (2021) as stand-up specials.

As an actor, he began his career on the sitcoms “Ground Floor” (2013–2015) and “Those Who Can’t” (2016–2019). Rory J. Scovel was born in Greenville, South Carolina, on August 6, 1980. There are six of his siblings. As a youngster, Rory played basketball, tennis, and soccer and has described himself as hyperactive and a class jokester. His kindergarten through eighth grade was spent at St. Mary’s Catholic School, followed by Christ Church Episcopal School.

1999 marked Rory’s graduation from Greenville Senior High School. He then attended the University of Central Florida for one year before enrolling at the University of South Carolina Upstate, where he earned a degree in communications in 2003. There, he participated in Division II soccer.
