Seth Adam Meyers is an American stand-up comedian, television host, actor, writer, and producer. He presently hosts the NBC late-night talk show “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” Meyers was a cast member on NBC’s sketch comedy series “Saturday Night Live” from 2001 to 2004 and was the show’s chief writer and anchor for their news parody segment “Weekend Update” from 2006 until his departure in 2014.

In July 2013, Seth Meyers became engaged to his five-year fiancée, attorney Alexi Ashe. The couple wed in a Jewish ceremony on Martha’s Vineyard on September 1, 2013. On March 27, 2016, their first son, Ashe Olson Meyers (named after his wife’s maiden name and his mother’s maiden name, respectively), was born at Lenox Hill Hospital. The couple’s second son, Axel Strahl Meyers, was born in the lobby of their apartment building on April 8, 2018. Adelaide Ruth Meyers was born on November 24, 2021, and her birth was proclaimed during the Corrections segment of “Late Night.”

Seth Meyers was born in Evanston, Illinois, on December 28, 1973, and reared in Okemos, Michigan, between the ages of four and ten, before moving to Bedford, New Hampshire. His mother, Hilary Claire (née Olson), taught French, and his father, Laurence Meyers Jr., worked in finance. Josh Meyers, his younger sibling, is an actor and comedian.

His paternal grandfather was an Ashkenazi Jewish immigrant from Kalvarija, Lithuania, near Marijampol. The remainder of his ancestry consists of Czech, Austrian, Croatian (through his paternal grandmother), Swedish (through his maternal grandfather), English, and German. Meyers discovered on the program Finding Your Roots that his great-grandfather changed his family’s surname, Trakianski, to Meyers, after his father, Mejer Trakianski.

Meyers attended Okemos’s Edgewood Elementary. In New Hampshire, he graduated from Manchester High School West.
