With his tattoos, body piercings, and predilection for hurling obscenities at the press, he rapidly established himself as the strange man out among the group. He has also dabbled in television and theater, starring in shows like “Dream Team” and musicals.

His wealth is also increasing as a result of his participation in various reality competition series such as “Celebrity Big Brother,” and “VIP Love Island.”

His younger sister, Naomi, was a member of the top 20 hit-making duo “Buffalo G,” and his other sibling, Tara, was a member of the band “FAB!”

Shane Lynch's Education

The public was not given access to information about Shane Lynch’s educational background, such as the university he attended or the degree he received. However, it was revealed that he struggled in school due to dyslexia and eventually dropped out to work as a mechanic with his father.

Shane Lynch's Relationships and Family Life

Shane Lynch was married to Sheena Lynch of Real Housewives of Cheshire. They married on August 2007. At that time, Shane was a contestant on the ITV program “VIP Love Island,” and he halted the series in order to sever his feelings for Sheena.

Sheena shares the same passion for music, having worked as a backup vocalist for Westlife, Blur, and Miss Dynamite, as well as starring in “The Real Housewives of Cheshire.”

They had two kids, Billie Rae and Marley Mae, and moved to the Wirral in Cheshire two years ago after 20 years in London. However, the couple divorced when the pandemic caused problems in their marriage, but they reconnected after working things out.

Prior to his relationship with Sheena, the boyband member married Easther Bennett, the main vocalist of the band “Eternal,” in March 1998, but later divorced in July 2000. He was also in a relationship with socialite, aristocrat and “It girl” Lady Victoria Hervey in 2002, before tying the knot with the real housewife.

Shane Lynch's Career

Shane Lynch was one of the aspirants present for auditions in Dublin in 1993, organized by music manager Louis Walsh, who had previously handled Johnny Logan, to find a new boyband to counter British group “Take That.”

He and five other successful auditionees made their notorious debut on RTÉ’s “The Late Late Show” with Gay Byrne before ever recording any track. Despite the Irish press criticizing their performance, the band went on to become one of Ireland’s most popular pop bands.

His body piercings, tattoos, and violent outbursts immediately earned him a reputation as the group’s bad boy, since they contrasted with the band’s clean-cut image.

In 1999, Shane attended the MTV Europe Music Awards with the band, breaking protocol by wearing a FUBU tracksuit instead of his colleagues’ coordinated suits, and telling the stunned audience, “In the press recently, there’s been a whole load of fucking shite about Boyzone in the year 2000 about breaking up, we are not breaking up.”

He was embroiled in a violent confrontation with American rapper Puff Daddy later that night. The singer looked into the camera two years later at a live concert for Childline and said, “Tabloid newspapers, you can kiss me fucking ars*!”

Boyzone reformed in 2007, embarked on a 29-date reunion tour, and released their comeback single, “Love You Anyway,” on September 29, 2008, accompanied by their Greatest Hits album, “Back Again… No Matter What,” on October 13, 2008.

As for his acting career, Shane made his acting debut in the Sky One sports drama “Dream Team” in 2004, during his hiatus from Boyzone. At the Wycombe Swan in High Wycombe, he has acted in “Pantomime” as well and starred in “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” In 2006, he featured as Prince Charming with Sue Jenkins as the evil stepmother Baroness in “Cinderella at the Tameside Hippodrome.”

Shane is also an avid motor racing connoisseur, having raced a Marcos, TVR, and afterwards, Mosler in the British GT Championship for the Eclipse Motorsport team from 2002 to 2006. He came within a few laps of winning the 2003 British GT Championship at Brands Hatch when he slammed into a spinning backmarker he was lapping.

He was participating in the British Drift Championship for Team Japspeed, a performance parts manufacturer and race team. However, while racing in the European Drift Championship round at Silverstone in 2008, he was involved in a collision with teammate Danny Eyles, and both Nissan Skyline cars were written off.

Moreover, Shane and Team Japspeed launched a brand new VH45 V8 powered Nissan 370Z for the 2016 British Drift Championship season, finishing second on debut at Lydden Hill.

Shane is also a reality television personality who has been in various shows. In 2004, he won a gold medal in the second series of Channel 4’s reality television show “The Games.” Shane reportedly introduced in the second season of ITV’s “Love Island,” but dropped out after the fifth week.

He won the second season of Sky One’s “Cirque De Celebrite” in 2007, and he was a housemate in series 21 of “Celebrity Big Brother” in January 2018, finishing third.

Today, Shane joined a new supergroup named “Boyz” with former REDHILL and Cruise Control bandmate Ben Ofoedu, and released an album in 2021. He’s more than likely preoccupied with furthering his music career and releasing new music.
