A School Plagued by Violence was Saved by a Group of Dads Who Care About the Kids
‘We’re dads’, said Michael Lafitte. Perhaps no words resonate more about the importance of masculinity in the country. Michael is the founder of Dads on Duty, a group of fathers who take shifts to keep Southwood High School in Shreveport, Louisiana safe. In the wake of fighting among the students in the school, Michael and his fellow dads did what dads do best—provide a presence of authority.
According to a report by CBS Evening News, many of the students were happy to have them around.

Positive Affirmations
Tracy Harris, one of the founding members of the group, share how they provide not just the right presence, but the emotional support too.
FDA (Father Dad Association)
According to Blaze Media content creator Jason Whitlock, there are many reasons why fatherhood is a great solution for America’s problems. Below is an excerpt from his article.
“Young people have a 99.9 percent chance of surviving COVID-19. Surviving without their dads in the homes? The outcomes are catastrophic. You’re far more likely to end up in jail, drop out of school, suffer depression, experience sexual assault, produce out-of-wedlock kids, join a gang, etc.
America needs a vaccine MANdate.
There are no negative side effects to men responsibly doing the job they were assigned — shepherding and discipling young people and families. Male energy passed clinical trials thousands of years ago. The Old Testament of the Bible says male energy achieved approval from the FDA — Father Dad Association — in the book of Genesis.”
Well said, Mr. Whitlock. Time tested values work.

Here’s what dads can do for their sons—when they act like dads. Inspiring!

There’s another way. There’s always another way. I love this. Thank you #DadsOnDuty for showing up for everyone’s babies in this school. We need more of this and less police in schools.
