Another reason for everyone to fill a bucket full of tears.

Steve Burns, who played the original “Blue’s Clues” host Steve on Nickelodeon’s Nick Jr. showed up on Thursday’s episode of CBS’ “The Late Show” to give Stephen Colbert an embrace after the late-night personality got all teary-eyed watching Burns’ touching video message.

Recently, Steve went viral after showing up in a video posted on Nick Jr. Twitter account to honor the show’s 25th anniversary and address his abrupt exit which touched not just Stephen Colbert, but everyone’s heart.

“Folks, that soft sound you’ve been hearing everywhere this week is the internet weeping because Steve, the original host of the beloved children’s show Blue’s Clues, dropped a video message to millennials,” Colbert started.

“Now, I was grown up in the late ’90s. Although I was aware of the show because of my kids, those kids are all grown up and moved away now,” Colbert explained. “So obviously, I have no emotional investment in Steve,” the viral video was then played and Colbert live-reacted to it.

Steve can be heard saying, “Look at all you have done and all you have accomplished in all that time.”

“And it’s just… it’s just so amazing, right? I mean, we started out with clues and now it’s what? Student loans, and jobs, and families, and some of that has been kind of hard, you know? I know you know.”

“I guess I just wanted to say,” he concluded, “that after all these years I never forgot you. Ever. And I’m super glad we’re still friends…”

The TV personality kept on denying how Steve’s message doesn’t really touched him yet when the real Steve showed up on the stage, Colbert appeared to lose his levelheadedness, became heartbroken and inquired, “What are you doing here?”

Steve, with his unique confidence and delicacy, reacted that he simply needed to come by and check whether the Late Show’s host was OK, “I just came by, I wanted to see if you were OK,” he said. “I mean, you — you seem kind of upset, and I just wanted to know if maybe wanted a hug. I mean, that’s what friends do, right?”

“I mean if you need one or whatever,” Colbert reacted to crowd cheers. Burns’ visit to the show finished in an exemplary Blue’s Clues way, with the late-night host revealing a notable clue — stamped with puppy Blue’s paw — from behind his work area. Burns immediately reacted, “Wow, great job, Stephen, let’s go tell Blue!” before the two exited the stage together.

This pure interaction once again, brought youth solace and comfort to each and every individual who’s struggling with their life and how the missing piece of their heart was currently filled.
