Flavor Flav Domestic Battery Charge Dropped

The former rapper also aims for sobriety.

Flavor Flav was arrested in Nevada earlier this year on a minor allegation of domestic assault, according to TMZ. However, the case against the rapper was dismissed, and he pled no guilty to one count of coercion. He was fined $640 and will not spend any prison time.

“Today the domestic violence charge against Mr. William Drayton (Flavor Flav) was dismissed,” his attorneys, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, disclosed to TMZ. “Mr. Drayton acknowledged the nonviolent act of grabbing a phone during the incident in question, a misdemeanor, and the case was closed by the court.”

The first complaint resulted from an alleged incident in Henderson, Nevada on October 4th. Flavor Flav apparently put his finger in the claimed victim’s nose, grabbed her, pushed her down, and pulled a phone out of her hand. 
He was arrested the next day. The alleged victim has been revealed to be a woman with whom he is dating at the time.
Flavor Flav, who is known for wearing a big clock on a chain around his neck has criminal past which includes traffic ticket arrests and convictions. He spent a month in jail for abusing his then-girlfriend in 1991, and three months in prison for shooting at a neighbor in New York in 1993.

He was arrested in Las Vegas in October 2012 after allegedly threatening his then-17-year-old fiancee’s son with knives at their house.
After pleading guilty to lesser counts of misdemeanor attempted battery in 2014, serving probation, and completing a domestic violence treatment course, the felony case was dismissed.
Flavor Flav’s representatives and the Henderson Police Department have yet to issue a statement or provide any further information.
