What caused her to make the divisive remark on "RHOSLC" recently?
Mary Cosby apologized recently on “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” for her infamous “Mexican thug” statement.
The controversial remark happened during an aforementioned episode where Cosby referred to fellow castmate Jen Shah as “heartless” when speaking with Lisa Barlow, as previously reported by Page Six.
The real housewife made an inexplicable comparison to Shah, comparing him to a “Mexican thug” who “[makes] all those drugs,” leaving Barlow stunned, prompting her to tweet, “She should be ashamed.”
On Sunday, Cosby apologized on Instagram, opening her statement with, “I would like to take this opportunity to address a comment I made on the last episode of ‘RHOSLC.’ I used poor judgment in my choice of words. Please accept my apologies.”
“I was not trying to single out the Mexican culture. I am African American and I know racism first hand,” she continued. “I’ve lived it daily my entire life.”
The reality television star also admitted that her statements were “reckless” and “unintentional” near the end of her statement. “It is important to me that you hear this apologize directly from me,” she remarked. “I am truly sorry! ”
The “RHOSLC” drama didn’t end there as Cosby is accused of depleting the accounts of Faith Temple Pentecostal Church members, who are now asking for food assistance, according to Shah.
During the same program, Cosby said that “people are fearing for their lives,” adding, “When is someone going to hold her accountable? It’s like, we’re not allowed to ask Mary about it.”
