The outlet claims that the incident happened at around 3 p.m. after the actor allegedly damaged a street sign with his vehicle on New Year’s Eve, to which police were called to deal with an “erratic driver.”

He was given a field sobriety test, which he failed, and his car was towed soon after. He was released early the following morning, around 5 AM PT and was given a March 30 court date, in which he’s expected to appear at the Ventura County Superior Court to answer for the alleged incident.

On Sunday, he showed up looking carefree and relaxed, despite the fact that he’d just spent the night in prison after being caught pouring gas into a vehicle and gulping down what seems to be a 7-Eleven drink.

Koechner is known for playing Champ Kind in “Anchorman” and Todd Packer in “The Office”. He filed for divorce from wife Leigh in January 2020 after nearly of 22 years of marriage. The former couple shares five children named Charlie, Margot, Sargent, Audrey and Eve.
