We shall soon see a battle for Wakanda with the return of the Black Panther.

The first teaser trailer for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” a sequel to the blockbuster film “Black Panther,” was unveiled by Marvel to fans on Saturday in San Diego at Comic-Con.

In order to pay tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, who portrayed the movie’s titular hero in 2018, “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler was present at the event and said a few words.

“It’s been five years since I was here. Five years ago I sat right there and we premiered the first footage from Black Panther and the late great Chadwick Boseman was sitting with me,” Coogler began in a statement acquired by IGN.

“And the cast hadn’t seen the footage yet so when we played it he was excited and he grabbed my left shoulder with his hand and was just squeezing down on my shoulder and he got so excited and squeezed so hard and I couldn’t even lift my arm. Standing here right now, I can feel his hand on me right now.”

“Chad is no longer with us physically but his spirit his passion his genius and his pride in his culture and the impact he made on this industry will be felt forever. We put that passion into this movie,” he added. “It goes to places of Wakanda we haven’t seen before, but it also goes places new.”

Boseman’s portrayal of T’Challa won’t be replaced, and he won’t be developed as a digital avatar either, according to reports from a number of major media sites after the actor passed away from colon cancer.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was also at the Comic-Con alongside cast members Winston Duke, Danai Gurira, Tenoch Huerta and Florence Kasumba. You can watch the trailer below:

As we previously reported, Daniel Kaluuya will not be reprising his role in the film due to schedule difficulties with Jordan Peele’s upcoming thriller “Nope.” He  portrayed W’Kabi, the spouse of Okoye (Danai Gurira’s character) and the best friend of T’Challa, the Black Panther.

The MCU’s fourth phase will be concluded by “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” which will also be a part of phases five and six as well as the newly created Multiverse Saga. The movie will be released in cinemas on November 11.
