One of his biggest scandals is the failure of more than 30 horses he trained to pass drug tests. Because of that, he usually pays fines and fights for suspensions.

On one occasion, his popular Derby winner, “Medina Spirit,” became a center of controversy since it didn’t pass drug tests.
