The reality star disclosed further information about her condition.
Just months after having a mole removed, Teddi Mellencamp, a former cast member of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” disclosed on social media that she had been diagnosed with Stage 2 Melanoma.
Mellencamp revealed more information about her health on Tuesday, saying that despite her anxiety, she had her 3-month skin check last week as recommended by the medical professionals in the wake of her past melanoma.
A biopsy was conducted after the doctors discovered that she had another suspicious spot close to her previous one. The reality personality then received a call informing her that she had stage 2 melanoma.
Mellencamp’s next move is to make an appointment with an oncologist the following week to have it removed and plan their next course of action. The television personality has additionally uploaded numerous images of her skin as well as its affected areas; mostly close-up shots.
“Of course, this is all pending some additional testing and biopsies of other spots nearby that were taken today. Moral of this story: if a doctor says, “come in every 3 months” please go in every 3 months,” she continued.
The former “RHOBH” star concluded her statement by urging everyone to “love and protect” the skin we are in, noting that receiving the diagnosis had been a “wake-up call” for her.
According to PEOPLE, Mellencamp experienced a skin cancer scare in March. The tests revealed that she had melanoma in situ, a type of disease indicating that a tumor has not progressed past the skin’s outer layer.
