This is not the first time that one of the Kardashians' family members has been sued by their former employees.
Khloé Kardashian is currently a subject of a lawsuit filed by her former household assistant for unpaid wages and wrongful termination. Further accusations regarding her are made in the complaint on top of that.
Matthew Manhard, Khloé’s former household assistant and the one who filed the lawsuit against her, claimed that he worked for the socialite from January 2019 until November 2022. He described the experience as a “total nightmare” for several reasons.
According to the lawsuit acquired by TMZ, which first reported the news, one of the reasons was that the reality star didn’t compensate him for his extra labor; he frequently worked for her for 12 hours a day since she kept him so busy with responsibilities. Manhard also stated that due to how busy they were, he frequently found himself unable to take his legally mandated breaks.
Moreover, he suffered a knee injury that mandated him to take a break from working with her to recover in May. It’s also something that he notified Khloé about. But to his surprise, in November, after a few months had passed, he attempted to return to work only to find out that he was already fired.
Legal representatives for Khloé immediately released a statement addressing both of Manhard’s claims, first regarding his pay, saying, “It’s unfortunate to learn that a former employee would choose to go this route. Matthew was properly classified and compensated for his role.”
For his firing after taking a leave, they stated: “Toward the end of his employment, he was on a leave of absence for an extended period of time, and the role eventually needed to be replaced. We will not tolerate false accusations and will prove that this is a frivolous lawsuit.”
On the other hand, Khloé herself has not commented on the current lawsuit. Besides, this was just another addition to a string of legal troubles the Kardashians faced with their previous employees, and she’s no exception.
