A wedding ring does not guarantee a strong marriage.

Kyle Richards said several of her “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” castmates questioned her marriage after seeing a paparazzi shot. “It started all from a stupid picture of me without a ring on,” Richards shared at a National Alliance on Mental Illness event at the Fleur Room in West Hollywood on Tuesday.

The original “RHOBH” star gave two reasons why she doesn’t wear the huge gem given to her by her husband, Mauricio Umansky. “A, I haven’t been wearing my big diamond ring because there’s a lot of crime these days, and I’m like, ‘I’m not comfortable,’” she said. The second part of the sentence was, “And B, I had just come from the gym lifting weights, so I was like, ‘That thing sparked that?’ I’m still thinking.”

Richards probably meant a picture of her in February without her wedding band, wearing blue leggings, a black tank top, and white sneakers as she left the gym. The Bravolebrity spilled that she and Umansky are staying unbothered despite having struggled when her co-stars brought up their marriage in the past.

Previously, Richards said of his emotional condition, “When this stuff would come up, I would, like, cry and be devastated,” adding, “And now I’m more like, ‘OK, I’ve done this before. Let’s get to work. Have at it. Get real. What have you got for me?’”

Richards said she still had to brace herself for the fallout when the show airs in a few months despite knowing the truth about their connection. “Obviously, you don’t love it because I’ll deal with this when the show airs in six months, and people are talking again, and more phony stories and lies will be spread. It’s simply so annoying.”

Umansky had first hinted at the rumblings on an April 10 episode of the “Two Ts in a Pod” with Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge” podcast. “We’ve decided against splitting up. It’s so stupid,” he exclaimed. “[There’s] that one stupid story that came out there, and then the girls all, you know, decided to talk about it on the ‘Housewives,’ and so now it’s a storyline.”

The author of “Dealmaker” said he and his wife would address the rumors. But, “It is what it is,” he said. Richards and Umansky’s marriage is one of the longest in the “Real Housewives” series, beginning in 1996.
