During a previous interview with Seth Meyers, Reynolds revealed that during the actress’ labor with their first child, James, he made the mistake of playing Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On,” to which Lively was not amused.
“It was like steak knives came out of her eyes,” the “Deadpool” actor recalled. “She was like, ‘Are you f****** s****** me right now?’” Still, regardless of the harsh treatment he received for easing up the moment, Reynolds applauded Lively for maintaining her composure during the process.
“She was a mercenary,” Reynolds described of her wife’s strength at that time. “I think I just caught her right in the middle of a contraction. She was pretty much making jokes the entire time.”
