Throughout her life, the commentator faced ongoing challenges with her weight. The turning point came in 2021 when she tragically lost her mother to kidney disease and diabetes. This heartbreaking event prompted her to prioritize her health.

She recognized the significance of wellness and fitness and embarked on a weight loss journey. Thanks to her dedicated efforts, she shed pounds without putting excessive strain on her body.

What is Ana Navarro’s Diet Plan?

Your diet is the first thing to tackle when it comes to dropping pounds. After all, what you eat affects how you feel and look. In Ana’s case, she went for a strict diet – no more booze and lots of fruits, veggies, and other good stuff.

Ana used to be a fan of alcohol before she kicked off her weight loss journey. But she cut it out when she commented on its not-so-great effects on her body. She hasn’t entirely bid farewell to her favorites like Rosé and margaritas, but now she keeps it in check and doesn’t go overboard.

Drinking too much alcohol is linked to weight gain and obesity. Unlike other nutrients, our digestive system prioritizes getting rid of alcohol over processing necessary macros and micros. When you drink too much, your digestive system sees it as a toxin and halts the processing of other nutrients like carbs, proteins, and fats. This can lead to storing fats in cells, possibly causing weight gain.

In terms of what she eats, Ana loves her usual healthy meals, filled with leafy veggies and fruits, to keep her weight in check. Veggies are low in calories but high in nutrients, ensuring her body gets what it needs. Packed with fiber, water, good fats, and proteins, these meals keep her feeling full until her next one, preventing unhealthy cravings.

Ana Navarro Thanks Mediterranean Diet for Weight Loss

Ana has positive remarks about the Mediterranean diet after her recent European trip. “The View” co-host went on social media to share details about her “amazing” visit to Greece and Turkey.

“I drank and ate like a condemned person, and I actually lost a pound,” Ana said in an Instagram video. “The food there is so healthy, so fresh, lots of fruits, lots of vegetables, nuts, olives — I guess olives are fruit, right?—simply grilled seafood, simply grilled chicken, no processed food, no fast food.”

Ana wrote in the caption, “I drank and ate like if the world was coming to an end, and didn’t gain any weight. Yes, I swam, walked like a camel, hiked like a goat, danced…but, also, there’s something to be said for the Mediterranean diet of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, and grilled meats. I haven’t seen a pancake in a month.”

She continued. “The diet there has much less processed sugar and preservatives. I’m a convert. Though in truth, I would currently kill or die for a Cuban croqueta preparada.🤣🤣🤣”

The Mediterranean diet centers on plant-based foods like vegetables, fruits, herbs, nuts, beans, and whole grains. It also includes moderate dairy, poultry, eggs, and seafood. On the flip side, red meat is consumed only occasionally.

Did Ana Navarro Take Ozempic to Lose Weight?

There have been unverified allegations suggesting that Ana has been using Ozempic as part of her weight loss journey. After sharing a picture on Instagram, many users commented that her weight loss was linked to the medication. However, these claims remain rumors.

It can be noted that the FDA initially approved Ozempic for treating type-2 diabetes, not specifically as a weight loss drug. However, according to experts, some patients might experience a slight reduction in weight while using it.

The active ingredient in Ozempic is Semaglutide, which is also FDA-approved and is administered at higher doses to address weight-related issues. It’s worth noting that Ozempic and Semaglutide are marketed under Wegovy.

Because Wegovy has been in short supply in recent years, some individuals, including those without type-2 diabetes, have turned to using Ozempic without a prescription. If you’re considering switching to medication for weight loss, it’s advisable to consult with your doctor beforehand.

What is Ana Navarro’s Workout Routine?

Ana’s weight loss strategy involves a mix of Pilates, pickleball, cardio, and muscle-strengthening exercises. She found Pilates an excellent starting point since her goal was to trim down and manage her weight.

Pilates, a popular low-impact exercise often done on a mat, shares similarities with yoga. This workout can enhance balance, flexibility, posture, and mind-body control. Despite not being high-intensity, it proved effective for Ana as a beginner. It’s also beneficial for overweight individuals, reducing weight without stressing the joints, unlike swimming, cycling, or running.

Ana added pickleball to her routine, playing it at least twice weekly to enhance her weight loss efforts. Pickleball, resembling tennis or badminton, is played on a court with perforated rackets and a ball. Beyond being a fun sport, it’s a solid workout that engages your entire body. You run a bit in a match, swinging your hands to hit the ball. A single game can burn 400 to 800 calories, increasing calorie expenditure by 36%.

Ana’s muscle-strengthening routine included treadmill running and circuit training, blending resistance, endurance, and high-intensity interval exercises. Starting slow and progressing to high-intensity workouts helped minimize risks like muscle fatigue and joint pain, common in those carrying extra weight. Strength training contributed to building strong, lean muscles. Today, she still incorporates some of these cardio and muscle-strengthening exercises to stay fit.
