Aaron Ross and Sanya Richards-Ross have been married for 11 years since 26th Feb 2010.

Catching one of the world’s fastest women is no simple undertaking, but Aaron Ross promised his mother when he first saw Sanya Richards, “I’m going to get her.”

Ross recalled seeing her standing there in her outfit, and she looked fantastic, at a 2003 University of Texas track and field tournament he had been watching. He informed his mother, Cheryl Woods, seated next him, “One of these days, I have to make sure I talk to that girl.” “She’s fine.”

A year later, Ms. Richards caught her first glimpse of Aaron Ross, and she was the one who made the first move. “I walked into a school cafeteria with my sister, Shari, and I was like, ‘He’s kind of cute,’ ” said Sanya Richards, who was a sophomore at the time and the national champion in the 400 meters. “Shari called him over.” Richards discovered during their talk that Mr. Ross — known simply as Ross around campus — was a member of the Longhorns football team, and he already knew she was a strong runner. They embarked on their first date a week later, with each athlete scoring points with the other. Richards, recalls, “He was a very confident person, and I was attracted to that.” “He seemed to be laughing at everything.” It didn’t bother him that his date didn’t know much about football. Ross, added, “She knew a lot about almost everything else.” “She was incredibly brilliant.”

Ross’ mother knew Ms. Richards was more than a passing fancy when he brought her home months later. Mrs. Woods, whose image is tattooed on Mr. Ross’s right forearm, said, “He didn’t bring his past girlfriends around as much as he did her.” He and Richards had been dating for a while and had realized that competitive sports was simply one of their many shared hobbies. Richards left for the Olympic Games in Athens in the summer of 2004, having won five more N.C.A.A. titles during her two-year stint at Texas. She won a gold medal as a member of the 4-by-400-meter relay team.

As she began competing in competitions across the country and in Europe, the couple grew closer as the distances between them narrowed. Richards remarked, “Our phone bills were insane.” As a cornerback at Texas, Ross paved his own road to stardom, helping the Longhorns win the 2005 national title. The Rev. Wesley Green married the couple on Feb. 26 in front of roughly 500 guests at Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin, Texas; the altar was decorated with yellow and pink roses. Ahmad Bradshaw, Corey Webster, and Michael Johnson of the Giants were among the groomsmen, as was Tarell Brown of the San Francisco 49ers, who described Mr. Ross, a buddy from their days as Longhorns, as a “really humble, industrious guy.”

Roy Williams of the Dallas Cowboys, Derrick Johnson and Jamaal Charles of the Kansas City Chiefs, and Olympic track star Carl Lewis were among the other attendees. Mr. Ross, dressed in an ivory tuxedo, quietly flashed a grin and a peace sign at the audience, eliciting laughter.

Before the bride, who wore a transparent ivory veil that matched the tight bodice of her strapless gown, three flower girls tossed white rose petals down the aisle. The bridegroom’s brother, James Ross, fought back tears during their reception at the Four Seasons Hotel Austin that evening, saluting his brother for sticking to his objectives and dreams, as well as Ms. Richards.

Sanya Richards-Ross, with her husband in attendance, won the gold medal in the women’s 400 meters at the XXX Olympiad in London in 2012. Richards-Ross got stronger over the last 100 meters, nearly colliding with runners on both sides of her and with the defending champion, Britain’s Christine Ohuruogu, making up ground on the outside. But, she managed to win the gold because of her determination and fully knowing that her husband is there to support her.

Sanya Richards-Ross, a famous track star, and her two-time Super Bowl-winning husband Aaron Ross revealed they were expecting their first child together in February 2017. Aaron Jermaine Ross II, also known as “Deucey,” was born in August and has been the center of his family’s attention ever since. When Sanya Richards-Ross and her husband Aaron Ross learned they were expecting, they were both overjoyed at the prospect of becoming parents for the first time.

The four-time Olympic gold medalist reveals she was especially happy when the couple learned they were expecting a boy because her son would have the two-time Super Bowl champion as an example of what a decent man can be.

It’s difficult to understand how two professional athletes could ever find the time to form a bond as deep as this couple’s, yet their love has only grown stronger over the course of their careers’ ups and downs. Her fight with the rare Behcet’s disease, as well as numerous disappointing finishes at important competitions, has pushed her to strive even harder, and Aaron has always been there for her.

Ross had 42 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, 9 passes defended, and three interceptions for a total of 51 yards, including a 43-yard touchdown, as a rookie. Ross was out for the first nine games of the 2009 season due to a hamstring injury. In November, he returned for four games before re-injuring his hamstring in mid-December. Ross was placed on the injured reserve list by the Giants on December 31, 2009, just days before the season’s last game, despite the fact that they were out of the postseason picture.

When Terrell Thomas, Ross’s teammate, was placed on injured reserve just before the 2011 season, Ross was given the starting job. The Giants would go on to win Super Bowl XLVI against the Patriots later that season .

In 65 NFL games, Ross has 200 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 33 passes defensed, and 10 interceptions (41 starts).

Ross battled injuries and struggled in coverage during his limited time in Jacksonville. When Ross described his tenure in Jacksonville as “a fantastic compensated vacation to Florida,” he enraged Jaguars supporters. He later expressed regret.
Ross was released by newly appointed general manager Dave Caldwell after the start of free agency on March 8, 2013.

On March 12, 2013, four days after being released by the Jaguars, Ross signed with the New York Giants.

Ross was placed on injured reserve (IR) with a back injury following week 4 of the 2013 NFL season, and his season was done.
