In 1981, Wells was cast as the homicidal biker Wez in Mad Max 2, which was shot in Silverton near Broken Hill in outback New South Wales, Australia. Wells is best known to audiences worldwide for his portrayal of a psychotic, post-apocalyptic villainous character who ruthlessly pursues hero Max Rockatansky before dying spectacularly in the film’s finale. Wells found his way to Hollywood, where he played a crazy biker in the famous movie directed by John Hughes and produced by Joel Silver which is the 1985 teen comedy Weird Science. Wells’ performance in that film so impressed Silver that he was immediately cast as Bennett opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in Commando in 1985.
