Vir Das is an Indian comedian, actor, and musician. After commencing his career in stand-up comedy, Das transitioned to Hindi cinema, appearing in supporting roles in films such as “Badmaash Company” (2010), “Delhi Belly” (2011), and “Go Goa Gone” (2013). He released the Netflix special “Abroad Understanding” in 2017.

Vir Das was born in Dehradun to Ranu Das and Madhur Das on May 31, 1979. Vir grew up in both Nigeria and India. He attended the Indian Language School in Lagos, Nigeria, while in Nigeria. He attended The Lawrence School, Sanawar, and Delhi Public School, Noida, in India. After 18 months at Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi, he moved to the U.S. Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, awarded him a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Theatre with a concentration in performance.

After graduating from Knox, Das was accepted into the Stanislavsky Program at Harvard University and Moscow Arts Theatre. Trisha, who is four years older and a published author and documentary filmmaker, is his older sister by four years. Vir Das began his career with a performance titled “Walking on Broken Das” at one of the finest hotels in New Delhi. Das began his television career by hosting two TV programs on Zoom. The first was Is “Route Ki Sabhin Linein Maast Hain,” where he played an uncle in anguish. The second was his late-night comedy program, “Ek Rahin Vir.” Das also hosted Star World’s “Top Drive – Getaway.”

Das has made appearances on numerous comedic television programs. He hosted the sports comedy program “Cricket Firsts” on Zee Sports (now “TEN Action+”).
