Apollo Edard Nida was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 19, 1978, to an Italian-American mother and an African-American father. He is a businessman who rose to prominence after appearing alongside his wife Phaedra Parks on the reality television show “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” In 1995, he met Phaedra Parks through a mutual friend. They founded a fitness company named Phine Body together.

Following his graduation from high school, Apollo Nida worked as a car repo man right after. Apollo is a self-proclaimed asset recovery expert who was convicted of fraud and sentenced to five years in prison for receiving stolen property. In 2014, he was sentenced to eight years in jail for bank fraud and identity theft.

Apollo Nida's Net Worth

In 2021, Apollo Nida has a net worth of $400 thousand dollars and is an American businessman and reality television star. Apollo Nida is the ex-husband of Phaedra Parks from The Real Housewives of Atlanta. From 2009 through 2017, they were married. Apollo Nida specializes in asset recovery. He’s also a convicted felon who was sentenced to five years in prison for receiving stolen property.

His wealth is due to his crimes of fraud and identity theft. Federal officials accused Apollo Nida in January 2014 of illegally obtaining credit reports on individuals via using fictitious corporations and bank accounts. The credit reports were subsequently used by an alleged co-conspirator to obtain fraudulent loans. He allegedly used this method to secure fake auto loans by impersonating ten women. Nida was also suspected of hiring a US Postal employee to take Delta employees’ retirement checks as well as checks issued to persons who owed money to various state and local entities.

Apollo Nida was suspected of getting $3 million in illegal loans and stolen checks in total. He may have been sentenced to 30 years in prison for this crime. He was given an eight-year sentence and began serving it in 2014. Because he collaborated with the federal government during the trial for ffraud, his sentence was significantly reduced from the maximum. Apollo’s mother was present at the sentence, but Phaedra was not, according to reports. In March of 2019, Apollo was released.

Apollo Nida's Early Life

Apollo Nida is 43 years old, who was born on November 19, 1978 in United States. With his movie star good looks and well-heeled manner, Nida appears to have had a privileged upbringing, but he did not.

He was underprivileged as a child, with a mother who allegedly overdosed on heroin in front of him. As a mixed race German and Black child, growing up was chaotic for Nida from sun up to sun down. Nida claims he was homeless as a child, being transferred from one person to the next and not even attending school until the third grade.

During his trial, Nida’s counsel called up Nida’s half brother Michael Derrick and Nida’s mother Katrina Toohey to testify on his behalf, bolstering the case that Nida had a difficult childhood. Toohey sobbed as she said she was a bad mother and drug addict. Nida, she claimed, witnessed her being beaten by a boyfriend as well as overdosing on narcotics. “I put my kids through hell,” she explained.

He was primarily raised by acquaintances and family members, as he lacked true parental figures. Nida dropped out of high school and became involved in the vehicle theft ring that had previously landed him in prison. Nida’s half brother stated, “He’s not a villain.” “He’s a human being with a heart,” says the narrator.

Nida is also well-versed in the subject of racism. He has publicly declared that the Caucasian half of his DNA is made up of family members who have racial bias against him because he is Black. So he knows the penetrating effects of having someone refer to you as the N-word and contends in a June “Straight From the A” interview, “Growing up, you hear the n-word and have low self-esteem, but for me, I’ve always — it’s just like, repellent.”

Apollo Nida's Education

There is not much information known about Apollo Nida’s education. He went to high school and became a repossessed car salesman right after graduation. But information as to which university he studied, or what degree he majored, is unknown. Since he started working after high school, it is safe to say that perhaps Apollo has never entered college.

Apollo Nida is the ex-husband of Phaedra Parks from The Real Housewives of Atlanta. From 2009 through 2017, they were married. Phaedra is an accomplished entertainment lawyer who rose to fame after appearing on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. For several seasons, Phaedra has been a part of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. She is quite active in Atlanta’s and the neighboring area’s civic activities.

Apollo flagged down Phaedra’s vehicle on the interstate near Atlanta in 1995, according to Phaedra. “He saw me, flagged me down, we met, and he followed me home and walked up to my doorstep and said, ‘Hey, I want you to be my girlfriend.’ And so that’s how we got together,” she said. “Apollo was incredibly sweet, always very generous, just a really good person,” she said. After that experience, the couple enjoyed an on-again, off-again relationship for about a decade. Apollo was sentenced to six years in jail in the early 2000s for his role in a car theft plot.

After he had been released, they picked up again because as she made clear, “I thought he was changed, I honestly did, he seemed like he had matured a lot. He was very focused on settling down and having a family, he was still very much in love with me and I thought he was still cute. I just knew we always had a true connection and had known each other for over a decade. I knew his family, he knew my entire family, and we had been around each other.”

The pair finally married and raised a family, but Apollo got himself into legal difficulties once more. “I was done with that relationship from the time I found he had done all of this,” she stated.

They went on to have two sons together, Ayden and Dylan, in 2010 and 2013. But, unfortunately for the attorney-turned-reality TV star, she didn’t hold to her initial notion that Apollo is a “nice man.” The couple split in 2016, and there were a few legitimate reasons for them to join the lengthy list of “Real Housewives” stars who have divorced.

Apollo was sentenced to eight years in jail for identity theft and fraud in 2014. In March 2019, Apollo’s sentence was reduced by one year. He was brought into custody in the Philadelphia Federal Court House after his release and placed back into the system after allegedly breaking a technical condition of his release in June. He could now be held in prison until October 15, 2019, his original release date.

Adding fuel to the fire is the difficulties of contacting Apollo while he was incarcerated. Because he was in solitary confinement at the time, Phaedra told Us Weekly in 2017 that he couldn’t make calls or have visitors. “I didn’t have any knowledge that any of this was going on until he contacted me and said, ‘Hey, I’ve been arrested,'” Phaedra admitted on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in 2014, saying, “I didn’t have any idea that any of this was going on until he phoned me and said, ‘Hey, I’ve been arrested.”
Unfortunately, that did not go as planned. Phaedra went even farther, telling a divorce lawyer that she “married him because [she] thought he was a different man.”

In the end, Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida had to get divorced twice. According to TMZ, a judge basically reversed their divorce judgment in March 2017 (three years after she first filed), after finding items they didn’t like in the documents. Phaedra, a lawyer, was accused of “deliberately misspell[ing] the parties names,” as well as Apollo’s suggestion that he would continue to attend divorce hearings despite being in prison. “It’s quite odd that a man who is engaged and enjoys frequent visits with his fiancée would try so aggressively to avoid dissolving his marriage,” Phaedra’s rep stated in a statement to Us Weekly in response to Apollo finding love again.

Apollo Nida found love again in the time between Phaedra Parks’ initial divorce file and the judge’s decision. While incarcerated, Apollo got engaged, which we’re guessing didn’t make Phaedra reconsider her choice to divorce her husband. TMZ claimed in November 2016 that Apollo had popped the question to a mystery woman he’d started seeing two years earlier.

He appears to have a type as well: “Real Housewives of Atlanta” stars. The woman in question was Sherien Almufti, who actually revealed her identity on Season 9 of “RHOA” in 2017, when she attended the opening of Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker’s restaurant on Apollo’s behalf.

Despite the fact that Phaedra skipped the party to avoid what could have been one of the most embarrassing encounters in “Real Housewives” history, Kandi and Todd put Sherien on the spot to see if her friendship with Apollo had anything to do with his marriage. “Wifey wasn’t around, so I was there more than she was,” she replied cryptically. “I mean, he’s been gone for two years, and she’s only been there twice. I go regularly – it’s just 40 minutes away.”

Back on September 7, 2022, Apollo greeted his now-partner, Sherien, with a happy birthday, penning a sweet Instagram caption along with a photo of her. He wrote, “I want to send a very special, loving and warm HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the one and only @queensherien. Baby you are so amazing and it has been a wonderful journey seeing you grow and develop into the super star that you have become. I love you and thanks for all the love and support that you give me. May GOD bless you with many more wonderful days to come. Enjoy your day #virgoseason.”

It is not known whether or not Apollo Nida had a legitimate job or business in is career prior to his conviction. Apollo Nida, Phaedra Parks’ husband on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” was sentenced to eight years in prison by a federal judge on Tuesday for a four-year scam involving bank, mail, and wire fraud, as well as identity theft of more than 50 people for an estimated $2 million.

He cooperated with authorities, which resulted in his sentence being reduced.
Under sentencing guidelines, Judge Charles Pannell might have sentenced him to anywhere from 92 to 115 months in prison. The lower end of such standards was acceptable to the government. Pannell went slightly over the 92-month limit, in part because white-collar criminals like him have a high recidivism rate, he argued on the stand. Thomas Bever, Nida’s attorney, tried to get the sentence lowered in part because of Nida’s bad childhood, but Pannell felt that was not a significant enough issue considering Nida’s age (35).

Pannell did recommend that Nida be sent to a prison in Atlanta for the sake of his family, which includes Parks’ two young sons.

Parks did not show up for the sentence, despite Bever’s claims at a previous hearing that he was not participating in the scam. Nida may not be able to leave the country until 2022. After the sentencing, Bever stated that Nida could be released from prison more than a year early and sent to a halfway house for good behavior.
According to a written affidavit by U.S. Agent Alexandre Herrera, Nida of the Secret Service is accused of setting up bogus organizations to gain access to commercial databases such as LexisNexis and Equifax, which he allegedly used to track down future victims of his fraud schemes.

Herrera began looking into Nida’s suspected fraud activities while investigating Gayla St. Julien, Nida’s alleged accomplice. As I always remind my students, having a co-conspirator (also known as collusion) makes fraud more difficult to detect. According to the criminal complaint, St. Julien would deposit stolen U.S. currency and phony checks. Treasury checks, checks in the names of real persons who were owed unclaimed property from various state and federal government agencies, and checks in the names of real people who were owed unclaimed property from various state and federal government agencies.

Today, Apollo Nida is now out of prison. However, to get there, Nida has requested that his supervised release be terminated sooner rather than later. Nida reveals in the petition that he was arrested by Miami police on May 30, 2021, for a local ordinance violation after attempting to enter his hotel. On June 1, Nida made bail for the secret arrest and informed his parole officer of his encounter with the police. Nida was freed on a $1,000 bail, according to court records. Parks were brought up from jail by Cynthia Bailey’s ex-husband Peter Thomas, who is Parks’ Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star.

Now for an update about his life, one of Apollo’s most recent posts was back on February 14, 2023, greeting everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day, including his now-partner, Sherien Almufti. His post was actually just a short video reminding everyone also to stay positive. He wrote in the caption, “Happy Valentine’s Day, stay blessed and humble. #thenidateam I love @queensherien Thanks for all your sacrifices and all you have done for the family.”

Real Housewives of Atlanta Storyline for Apollo Nida

Apollo Nida joined “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” in season 3 in 2010 alongside his ex-wife, Phaedra Parks.

We’ve seen the couple go through their ups and downs on Real Housewives of Atlanta throughout the years, including Textgate with Kenya Moore.

With the announcement that the pair is calling it quits, take a look back at some of the show’s most memorable moments.

Apollo described the first time he met Phaedra during their first season on Real Housewives of Atlanta: the couple had a meet-cute on the freeway. They began dating after exchanging phone numbers. The best part? Apollo admitted to lying to Phaedra about his age!

Phaedra and Apollo had a hilarious (and extremely phallic) photo shoot at their home just before the birth of their first kid Ayden. Phaedra’s Pickle Pregnancy Shoot, to be exact. When Ayden arrived, the photo shooting continued. Following the birth, the couple had another set-up. Even when Ayden was 11 months old, the couple demonstrated their undying love for him, despite their disagreements on how to punish him. “Apollo wants to be strict,” Phaedra says. “And I want to love on him and coddle him and give him whatever he wants.” Back to Season 3, they also argued over Apollo’s alleged run-in with the law at the time—sadly, it wouldn’t be his last.

Until the arrival of Mr. President, Phaedra gushed about how much she adored her “little prince” Ayden, her only kid, in the early half of Season Four. During their Season 5 trip, Kenya Moore was acting flirty with Apollo—and Phaedra was none too happy about it. Despite their marriage coming under fire, the couple made care to prove in Season 5 that they only had eyes for one other by wearing a swimming costume that assured he kept his gaze on her “donkey booty.” Apollo dropped a massive bomb during that season’s reunion when he claimed Kenya was frequently flirting with him. Thus, the birth of “Text Gate.” (NeNe’s reaction to the the claim is priceless.)

Apollo, who was still married to Phaedra Parks at the time, raised eyebrows in 2014 when he appeared to act improperly with Kenya after claiming the two had exchanged text messages. When Phaedra left the party after Apollo was caught conversing to Kenya again in Season 6, fans observed the strain in the couple’s marriage. During Season 6, Phaedra and Apollo celebrated the arrival of their baby son Dylan (a.k.a. “Mr. President”) and the purchase of a new home. Phaedra reflects on her emergency C-section and the “wonderful” first moments she shared with her son in this clip. Peace never lasts long in the ATL—and when the ladies sat down for the Season 6 Reunion, the topic of Textgate came up once again.

In the Season 6 episode “Flirting with Disaster,” Kenya told Apollo during a cast trip to Mexico, “Where is all this coming from? We both know that the stuff you were throwing out there, that it didn’t happen” (via Rolling Out). “No. You placed yourself in that scenario, I could have slept with you if I wanted to,” he said, before later admitting he lied about their texting. Peter Thomas, Cynthia Bailey’s now ex-husband, accused Apollo of lusting after Kenya in a swimsuit during the same trip. According to Radar, Apollo initially claimed he was “looking at the horizon,” but then admitted he did sneak a glimpse, but added, “I don’t mean any harm.”
