They commemorated their one-year anniversary last November.

Michael B. Jordan and Lori Harvey have chosen to separate ways after a year together, although both are claimed to be heartbroken by the situation.

“Michael and Lori are both completely heartbroken. They still love each other,” a source told PEOPLE adding, “Michael matured a lot over the course of their relationship and was ready to commit for the long term.”

“He let down his guard with her, opening up emotionally in a romantic relationship for the first time. They had great times together and brought out the best in each other.”

The now-ex-couple made their red carpet debut in March at the 2022 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Beverly Hills. However, last month at the Cannes Film Festival, the model was found alone on the red carpet for a screening of French zombie comedy Final Cut (Coupez!).

Following her return from France, rumors of a falling out between them began to circulate, according to the publication.
The sad news also comes after Jordan stated why he opted to make his relationship public for the first time in an exclusive interview with the journal in April 2021.

“I’m still private, and I want to protect that, but it just felt like it was a moment of just wanting to put it out there and move on,” the “Black Panther” said at that time.

“I am extremely happy. I think when you get older, you feel more comfortable about the [public nature] of the business that we’re in. So for me, it was a moment to, I guess, take ownership of that and then get back to work.”

In June 2021, Steve Harvey’s daughter likewise spoke about their low-key relationship, telling Bustle, “I think we’re both very private people naturally. So we just decide, if we take a picture or whatever it is, do you want to post this? Do we not?”

“We know there are people that love and support us and want to see us. So [we want to] give just enough, but keep the majority of it just for us. We’re trying to find a balance.”
