Kanye West stage name will now be abbreviated into “Ye” if it will be approved by a California judge.
As per the authoritative reports acquired by PEOPLE, Kanye has applied to change his name lawfully to “Ye”. His choice is for “personal reasons” and provide no further information.
The rapper announced on Twitter in September 2018 that he would be changing his stage name to Ye and pointing its significance in the Bible — three months prior, he released his eight album, “Ye.”
Kanye explained to the radio personality Big Boy in June 2018 his self-named album’s title, “I believe ‘ye’ is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible, it means ‘you’.”
“So, I’m you, I’m us, it’s us. It went from Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye — just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confusion, everything. The album is more of a reflection of who we are.”
As per a report by The New York Post, this coming Aug. 26, Kanye will host his third stadium-sized listening party for his forthcoming album “Donda” at Soldier Field in his old neighborhood of Chicago and is now remaking his Chicago youth home in the football arena.
He still has an ongoing divorce battle after nearly six years of marriage, with his ex-Kim Kardashian who still as of now holds “West” as her last name and recently, his brief relationship with model Irina Shayk has ended which was “never a serious thing that took off.”
