The actors allegedly got into an altercation about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Academy Awards.

Thandiwe Newton was reportedly pulled from the third installment of “Magic Mike” after 11 days of production, due to a disagreement on site with Channing Tatum about Will Smith’s controversial Oscars smack to Chris Rock.

“Channing Tatum is the producer and number one on set,” one of the crew members told The Sun. “Thandiwe Newton is the number two star. But 11 days into shooting and it’s all over.”

“They fell out over the debacle at The Oscars. I was on set. I watched her and watched him. They were in and out of the house where we were filming having this confrontation.”

“It was a tense exchange of words, but suddenly it escalated – Channing got into this car and he disappeared. People looked at each other and thought, ‘Wait, we’re supposed to be filming’,” the source continued.

“After the row he just went, ‘I am not working with her anymore’. Him being a producer, it’s his movie, so she’s off the movie. She’s gone. Everything we’ve shot for the last 11 days has to be re-shot with a new cast member.”

The source also added that director Steven Soderbergh attempted but failed to diffuse the situation, “He was trying to calm things down but he’s a very quiet man.”

However, the actress clarified that she was not fired, but rather departed the major project due to a “family matter,” and Salma Haye would apparently take her place in the part.

“Thandiwe Newton has made the difficult decision to step away from the production of Warner Bros. Pictures’ Magic Mike’s Last Dance to deal with family matters,” a studio representative informed The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday.

The initial Magic Mike movie made $167 million in theaters, followed by Magic Mike XXL in 2015, with a cumulative global gross of approximately $300 million. Members of the freelance crew stated they had already lost £4,000 due to the production delay.

Channing Tatum will reprise his role as male stripper Mike Lane in “Magic Mike’s Last Dance,” which will premiere exclusively on HBO Max. It also reintroduces Steven Soderbergh as director following his hiatus from XXL.
