Why Is Fred Savage Fired From “The Wonder Years”?

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time he's been accused of anything like this.

A spokeswoman for 20th Television confirms that Fred Savage has been fired as executive producer and director of ABC’s “The Wonder Years” due to misconduct claims.

“Recently, we were made aware of allegations of inappropriate conduct by Fred Savage, and as is policy, an investigation was launched. Upon its completion, the decision was made to terminate his employment as an executive producer and director of The Wonder Years,” a statement obtained by Deadline reads.

Savage played Kevin Arnold, the main character, in the original 1988 series before taking over as director for the reboot, producing eight episodes for the first season.
A Black middle-class family in 1960s Montgomery is the focus of the reboot of the original series, which aired from 1988 to 1993 and is produced by Disney Television Studios’ 20th Television.
The specifics of the charges against the actor are unknown, but as reported by the publication, he allegedly engaged in unprofessional behavior and had verbal outbursts during filming.

Savage has been accused of misconduct in the past. Alley Mills, his co-star, said in 2018 that he and Jason Hervey were involved in a sexual harassment case filed by a costumer, which led to the show’s cancellation in 1993.

A lawsuit has also been filed against him by a staff member of Fox’s sitcom series “The Grinder,” alleging that he assaulted and harassed her on the show’s set in 2015. In the end, the case was resolved and dismissed.

“The Wonder Years” first season is slated to end later this month, but it has yet to be renewed for a second season. Savage has not yet issued a comment in response to the claims.

Not surprised about Fred Savage. There's been stories about his conduct for days. Everyone can't be lying. I remember when he was on 'Boy Meets World', but I also remember when he was in 'No One Would Tell'. Seems like these type of roles came to him naturally. What a surprise.
