Blake Jenner was recently detained in California on suspicion of driving under the influence after being observed by law enforcement running a red light last Saturday.
The Burbank Police Department officers urged the actor to pull over when they observed him failing to stop at a red light at approximately 11:30 PM, according to TMZ, who broke the news.
When Jenner begins to exhibit indications of drunkenness, they decide to put him through a series of field sobriety tests. After the tests prove it, he was hit with a DUI charge.
The actor was detained and then freed that morning after posting $5,000 bail. He has previously made news for being in legal difficulties, notably for abusing his ex-wife.
As reported by Entertainment Tonight back in October 2020, the “Glee” actor confessed to having an abusive relationship with his ex-wife in a long statement posted to social media.
“I take full responsibility and accountability for the hurt that I inflicted during my relationship with my past partner — emotionally, mentally, and yes, physically,” he explained at that time.
He even described certain instances in which he lost control of his emotions and threw his phone irrationally, striking her partner in the face. “I froze in a state of shock and horror as my then-partner screamed in anguish, her eye immediately swollen shut from the impact of the phone.”
“It’s a moment I will regret for the rest of my life,” he added. “I am responsible for the pain that I caused her that moment and beyond. And it is something I am working on forgiving myself for.”
