He had two other siblings, Precious and Keisha, who did not grow up with his parents. Instead, he was brought up in Harlem, New York, by his maternal grandmother.
Growing up, Jim Jones had a troubled childhood. When he was younger, he was apprehended after stealing from a store. His actions caused him to be expelled from the local Catholic School he was attending after the store owner reported him.

The album was even more successful, reaching number 5 on the Billboard Top 200. “We Fly High,” a single from his third album, was one of the most famous songs of 2006. The dance part of his music video became viral before viral was even a thing. It was in the headlines of various news outlets after football superstars Plaxico Burress, and Michael Strahan danced it.
“Pray IV Reign” was his 4th album and one of his most controversial. The songs in his album were a mockery of some of the most famous rappers like Jay-Z and T.I. After his 4th album, and Jones had several mix tapes with various rappers like Twista and Lil Wayne.
Jim Jones has since taken a break from creating music after his latest work was released in 2014 with rapper Trey Songz.
