Then between 2004 and 2006, he was a member of the USHL’s Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. And with the RoughRiders, Purcell won the Clark Cup Championship in 2005. During those ten years in his profession, Teddy gained a lot of experience and played for different teams like Los Angeles Kings, Tampa Bay Lightning, Edmonton Oilers, and Florida Panthers.
He made his NHL debut for the Los Angeles Kings in 2007-2008 and joined the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2010. Furthermore, he played for Tampa Bay until 2014, and from that year to 2015, he was a member of the Edmonton Oilers. He has since represented the Florida Panthers.
