Ingredients
- 1 lb Shrimp – deveined
- 8 slices Bacon
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 Small onion – diced
- 2 cloves Garlic – minced
- 2 ½ cup Turnip – diced
- 1 tbsp Cajun spice
- 1 tsp Paprika
- ½ tsp Salt
- 5 cups Chicken bone broth
- ½ cup Heavy cream
- ¼ cup Chives – minced
Instructions
- Cook the bacon until crispy in a large dutch oven over medium heat. You can use a slotted spoon to remove and set aside.
- Place shrimp into the pot and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until cooked. Make sure to cook the shrimp sparingly, for it will turn rubbery. Set aside
- Add the butter, onion, and garlic to the pot. Cook, while stirring regularly, until tender but not browned. Add the spices and turnips and cook for another 1 minute or until fragrant.
- Blend the soup in the pot with an immersion blender.
- Add the heavy cream. Divide among bowls and garnish with bacon, shrimp, and chives. Serve right away.
