Cook time: 20 minutes

Total time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Shrimp – deveined
  • 8 slices Bacon
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 Small onion – diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic – minced
  • 2 ½ cup Turnip – diced
  • 1 tbsp Cajun spice
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 5 cups Chicken bone broth
  • ½ cup Heavy cream
  • ¼ cup Chives – minced

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon until crispy in a large dutch oven over medium heat. You can use a slotted spoon to remove and set aside.
  2. Place shrimp into the pot and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until cooked. Make sure to cook the shrimp sparingly, for it will turn rubbery. Set aside
  3. Add the butter, onion, and garlic to the pot. Cook, while stirring regularly, until tender but not browned. Add the spices and turnips and cook for another 1 minute or until fragrant.
  4. Blend the soup in the pot with an immersion blender.
  5. Add the heavy cream. Divide among bowls and garnish with bacon, shrimp, and chives. Serve right away.
