You have our undying admiration, Celine! You truly deserve all the love in the world.

After returning to social media to commemorate her 55th birthday since being diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, Celine Dion thanked her followers on Instagram, writing, “I felt this giant wave of love, thank you to everyone for the birthday messages!”

On March 30, the Grammy winner got a lot of birthday greetings from fans and friends, including Priyanka Chopra and Sam Heughan, who play her co-stars in the upcoming film Love Again. “Just like our movie, you are a real-life fairy godmother,” Priyanka said in a video, standing beside the “Outlander” actor, who added, “Thank you for giving the world your love and your music.” She continued, “We are so lucky to know you and we’re wishing you your best birthday yet.”

Since revealing in December that she had been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, the singer has kept a quiet profile, opting to recuperate at home. Her crew has mainly taken over her social media profiles in recent months, and on Thursday, March 30, they celebrated her milestone birthday with a series of unseen family images and a request for followers to send messages to the singer.

Her staff composed a heartfelt tribute for her, which read: “On this very special day, we’d like to wish you, dear Celine, a very happy 55th birthday!” A request was made to all of her supporters, which said, “To all of you fans who would like to leave a message for Celine on this occasion, please do so by posting your video or picture on your Instagram, Twitter or TikTok account.”

Along the way, she has been honored with several different accolades, and she has also met the man she will spend the rest of her life with, René Angélil, who served as her manager before they got married. Dion’s huge international success was once thought to be impossible for a two-year-old girl living in a small Canadian town on the outskirts of Montréal, but her determination and grit helped her beat the odds and do what many people will never do.

And one of the hardest things she’s had to deal with in her career recently is her hard fight with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), an incurable neurological disorder that could keep her from ever being able to use her musical talents again.

In December 2022, she said in an emotional video on Instagram, “I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time, and it’s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through. Recently, I’ve been diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder called stiff-person syndrome.

The pop star said that the spams she’s been getting lately are because of her health. “Unfortunately, these spams affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to,” she said.

“It hurts me to tell you today. This means I won’t be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February.” She continued, “I have a great team of doctors working alongside me to help me get better, and my precious children, who are supporting me and giving me hope.”

The illness, which affects one in a million individuals, progressively immobilizes the body, rendering patients incapable of walking or speaking. While there is no cure for SPS, there are therapies that can reduce the disease’s progression; Dion disclosed that she was doing everything possible to alleviate symptoms.

The singer thanked her fans for the kind messages they sent her through social media. “This means a lot to me,” she said. “I love you guys so much and I really hope I can see you again really soon.” Our hopes for a miraculous recovery are with you at this time, queen.
