We are witnessing the fall of a star caused by issue after issue, just after he lost his world.

A former Kanye West’s “Donda Academy” instructor claims that the celebrity barred black history textbooks from the school and fed students only sushi. Cecilia Hailey, who is suing Kanye West, the Chatsworth, California, school, and its directors for racial discrimination and wrongful termination, claimed that West banned books, including “The Lost Boys of Sudan” by Mark Bixler, which concentrates on four victims of the brutal Sudanese civil war.

She shared that between 35 and 40 students are believed to be left at the \$15,000-per-year private Christian school, claiming, “Kanye didn’t want much to do with black history books.” However, the children were reading Harry Potter, which contains homicides.

The lawsuit asserts that pupils only received sushi prepared by a chef for lunch. “There was no brunch available. You had young children consuming fresh sushi and cucumber rolls daily,” Hailey remarked. “Many children did not enjoy it, but it was all they had. This meal is not nutritious. There are state regulations, but they need to pay heed to them. It struck me as not only impolite but also heartless.”

Hailey, a teacher and administrator for over 25 years joined the school last November when it reopened following a temporary closure caused by the anti-Semitism scandal of the rapper. Hailey asserted, “Kanye would never have sent his children to Donda, ever… it was merely a posh daycare.”

Although Hailey initially worked as a substitute teacher at the school, she was offered a contract in January after assisting the current principal, Moira Love, in resolving ongoing problems. She claimed administrators contended with behavioral issues and disorganization and that students were improperly instructed.

“The children had so many transitions and so many instructors. I was the fourth or fifth principal they’d had in third grade, and they’d had ten in the previous three years,” Hailey said. It wasn’t that the children were evil, but rather that there was so much chaos.

Her daughter, Chekarey Byers, a Donda teacher, joins Hailey in her litigation. The two claims in court documents that they were subjected to racial discrimination had wages unlawfully withheld, and were fired on March 3 for reporting code violations.

Another major issue, according to Hailey, is that students lack discipline, and bullying is pervasive. She described a situation in which a fifth-grader struck an eighth-grader in the face.

The teachers recommended that the child be expelled, but nothing was done. “The next day, she came back and boasted about it,” Hailey alleged, “and no action was taken,” Kanye explained that he wants confident marginalized children to attend school. Still, this child was violent and did not need to be around other children.

Regarding the fifth-grader, Hailey continued, “There were children who lived in fear of her, but nobody did anything about it. I found that to be absurd.”

Hailey stated that she has yet to learn why parents are keeping their children enrolled at the school, which reportedly does not have a grading system. Still, she speculated they might be star-struck by West, whom she had never met.

“Unfortunately, the institution needs to close. Due to the lateness of the semester, the children must be home-schooled and receive actual grades and transcripts so they can transfer to another school. Currently, they are mistreating these children.”

Hailey stated that Love informed her she would be fired if she ever spoke to West and called her aggressive after she requested to communicate with the celebrity. “What upset me the most was that he would attend his own children’s activities but never Donda’s,” she claimed. “Donda could be a fantastic location. We have outstanding scholars but need leadership.”
