Drakeo the Ruler Fatally Stabbed Backstage During A Concert In Los Angeles

Drakeo the Ruler, whose real name was Darrell Caldwell, was killed in a stabbing during the “Once Upon a Time” event, which was hosted by Snoop Dogg. He was one of various artists scheduled to play at the all-day festival at Exposition Park in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The rapper’s spokesman, Scott Jawson, confirmed his death to CNN but provided no other details. “I can confirm his passing but am in shock and unable to share any further details at this time. I’ll be releasing a statement from his family as soon as we’re able.”

As per reported by the authorities, an argument broke out backstage at the said event, which takes place between the Banc of California Stadium and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum at Exposition Park.

The incident was responded to by the LAPD, California Highway Patrol, and the fire department. Drakeo was brought to the hospital, but according to various accounts, he died as a result of his injuries.

“During the altercation, one man was severely injured by a suspect wielding an edged weapon. Officers from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), and Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to the scene. The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries,” CHP said in a statement.

Following the incident, concert producer Live Nation, which co-organized the event with Snoop Dogg, decided to call the show off early. “There was an altercation in the roadway backstage,” their statement reads.

“Out of respect for those involved and in coordination with local authorities, artists and organizers decided not to move forward with remaining sets so the festival was ended an hour early.”

Police are investigating and will attempt to interrogate all musicians and their entourages who were there at the time of the brawl.
