At that time, she even flew to NYC to support Shah prior to her trial.

The “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” Meredith Marks is finally breaking her silence regarding Jen Shah’s guilty plea to charges of conspiring to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing.

During an interview on “NoFilter with Zack Peter” podcast acquired by Page Six, she addressed her co-star’s sudden shift in plea, saying, “Obviously I’m surprised. I think probably everybody’s surprised. I don’t think anyone was expecting that.”

The real housewife also disclosed that she has had little communication with Shah regardless of having filmed with her and Gay just days before she entered a guilty plea.

“We’ve texted a little, but I have not had any conversations with her,” she added. “I’ve been out of the country and she’s now been getting her oldest son settled at medical school and so I have not actually talked to her.”

Marks also took the time to defend herself for offering her support to Shah ahead of her trial along with Heather Gay who flew to New York City less than two weeks before the said fraud trial in Manhattan federal court at that time.

“Honestly, I had a post on my Instagram feed, a photo with me and Heather and Jen in it and there were a lot of really vicious comments, calling Jen a criminal and all these things,” the reality star explained.

“That may be the case if you want to say that now, but when someone hasn’t pleaded guilty and they haven’t had a trial, it’s not up to me or anybody other than the jury in that case — because it was slated to be a jury trial — to make that determination.”

Jen Shah Pleads Quilty

As we previously reported, Shah has amended her plea to guilty in Manhattan federal court back in July, after she initially pleaded not guilty  in response to charges that she had conspired to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing.

She is consented to surrender $6.5 million, make up to $9.5 million in reparations, and perhaps serve 11 to 14 years’ imprisonment. The real housewife went on to voice her apologies, admitting that she realized what she had done was wrong and apologizing to the people she had hurt.
