Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground turkey
  • 3 tablespoon Avocado oil
  • 1 tablespoon Coconut aminos
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Cumin
  • ½ teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon Sea salt
  • ½ cup Mayonnaise
  • ½ tsp Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chili pepper – crushed (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400° F. (204 degrees C). Using parchment paper or foil, line a baking sheet. (If using foil, grease it.)
  2. Whisk the avocado oil, coconut aminos, Chili peppers, smoked paprika, cumin, oregano, cilantro, and sea salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Mix in the ground turkey. Stir or mix with your hands until everything is combined. To avoid tough burgers, do not overmix.
  4. Divide the burger meat into four sections and shape each into a burger patty. Place on the prepared baking sheet. Gently press each patty with your thumb.
  5. Cook burgers according to your preference. For the oven, Bake turkey burgers for 16-18 minutes, or until almost done, then broil for 2-3 minutes, or until browned and fully cooked. If you want it to be pan-fried, fry turkey burgers in a pan over medium-high heat for 4 to 5 minutes per side. You can grill the turkey burgers for 3 to 4 minutes per side on medium-high heat.
  6. Allow burgers to rest for 5 minutes on a plate after cooking using any of these methods.
  7. Meanwhile, make mayo by whisking the mayonnaise and chili powder together.
  8. Serve with mayo, avocado, fresh cilantro, and homemade salsa.
