Six months after a Los Angeles court terminated the disputed guardianship, which the pop diva claimed stopped her from having any more children, Britney Spears disclosed on Monday that she is expecting her third child, which also happens to be her first with Sam Asghari.
She broke the news on Instagram and began her lengthy post by writing, “I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ … I thought “Geez … what happened to my stomach ???” My husband said “No you’re food pregnant silly 🤪 !!!”
“So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby 👶🏼 … 4 days later I got a little more food pregnant 🤰🏼🙈🙈🙈 It’s growing !!! If 2 are in there … I might just loose it 😬😬😬😬😬😬 …”
Back in September, the soon-to-be parents confirmed their engagement on social media, after four years of dating, as we previously reported.
“I obviously won’t be going out as much due to the paps getting their money 💴 shot of me 📸 like they unfortunately already have,” she continued. “It’s hard because when I was pregnant I had perinatal depression … I have to say it is absolutely horrible 😔 …”
“Women didn’t talk about it back then … some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her … but now women talk about it everyday … thank Jesus we don’t have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret 🤫 😬😬😬 … This time I will be doing yoga 🧘♀️ every day !!! Spreading lots of joy and love 💕 !!!,” she concluded her post.
The couple initially met in 2016 on the set of Britney’s single “Slumber Party,” music video when Asghari co-starred with her. She made their relationship official in January 2017 by means of Instagram and they have been together for almost five years.
The singer’s fiancé, verified the news as well, saying, “Marriage and kids are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect. Fatherhood is something i have always looked forward to and i don’t take lightly. It is the most important job i will ever do🙏”
After nearly 14 years, the Grammy Award winner’s conservatorship came to an end in November. Her triumph in court comes after a long legal struggle with Jamie Spears, her father, who was removed as her conservator.
Jamie petitioned the court for custody of her life and property in 2008, claiming her public mental health difficulties and alleged substance abuse. The temporary guardianship had been made permanent before the end of the year.
