Nick Carter is being sued by a female vocalist who alleges he drugged and sexually assaulted her in his residence.

Nick’s attorney, Liane K. Wakayama, states, “Melissa Schuman has been spreading this story for many years, but her allegation was false in 2017 and remains so today. Nick Carter’s lawsuit against Ms. Schuman for allegedly plotting to damage, defame, and extort Nick, his associates, friends, and family has recently been approved by a Nevada magistrate who reviewed the substantial evidence we presented.”

Liane continues, “Given our progress in Nevada, this response is predictable and pitiful. This PR ploy will not shake Nick’s resolve to hold Ms. Schuman and her accomplices accountable for the incalculable pain and suffering their extortion has caused.”

In 2003, the singer claimed to have been cast in the adolescent horror film “The Hollow,” alongside Nick Carter. After Melissa and other cast and crew members ate lunch on set, Carter allegedly invited her to hang out and play video games at his residence.

Schuman claims that after arriving at the apartment, Nick asked her about having an alcoholic beverage. She responded, “She didn’t have much experience with drinking and didn’t know what she wanted.” She also asserts that the “Backstreet Boys” star started making drinks for everyone, and he suggested (she) have one with cranberry juice.

Melissa asserted, “Defendant Carter put some form of flunitrazepam or a similar drug in (her) drink.” It should be noted that the street appellation for flunitrazepam is roofie. She claims that at some point, Carter asked her to come to listen to the new music he was working on, after which they began kissing.

“At 18, she felt insecure, intimidated, and sexually inexperienced; she had only kissed one other male.” According to the lawsuit, Carter knew she was a virgin and held religious, conservative Christian values.

It continues, “Against Melissa’s will, Defendant Carter took her to the bedroom, pushed her onto a twin bed, and then clambered on top of her. She repeatedly rejected our offers! She constantly informed him that she was a virgin, was saving herself for her future spouse, and did not desire sexual relations. Carter continued to force himself upon her, whispering that he could be her future spouse. She was unable to escape him because he was too weighty.”

“Melissa was subjected to forced vaginal penetration by Carter. She became languid and detached. After he concluded, the defendant arose from the bed. Then, she rolled onto her side and assumed the fetal position,” adding, “Despite having only a small amount of alcohol, she passed out.”

Schuman claims that Carter infected her with human papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted infection for which there is no cure due to a sexual assault. HPV is known to cause various health issues, including genital lesions and cervical cancer.

It should be noted that Schuman made her allegations public for the first time several years ago through her blog. Now, in the lawsuit, she alleges that Carter has engaged in a similar pattern of sexual abuse against other young women and juveniles.

Schuman now believes that a new law amending the statute of limitations for civil actions revives her claim, and she intends to take the matter to court. She initially accused him of this in 2017, filing a police report and requesting criminal charges against Carter, and the district attorney’s office declined to prosecute.
